Notes: Abstract We have investigated the rate constants for radical exchange in the resonance approximation. It is shown that the dependence of the activation energy on the heat of reaction has a characteristic resonance form. Experimental data which confirm this conclusion are presented. Similar results are obtained for the addition of an electron and of a radical.
