Abstract A technico-economic comparison is made between work production for site development and substructure installation for the construction of multistory buildings with deep multilevel basements and buildings without basements on soils classed as type II in terms of proneness to slump-type settlement and on ordinary soils not prone to this type of settlement. The high economy of buildings with deep basements is established for soils prone to slump-type settlement.
