Summary 1. In the thermal transformations of cumylpenyltrimethylsilane, tert-butylpenyltri-phenylsilane, and trimethy(triphenylmethylperoxy)silane under pressure, two competing reactions are accelerated: an internal molecular rearrangement and homolytic cleavage into free radicals. 2. A nonmonotonic, “stepwise”, course of the dependence of the logarithm of the overall rate constant of the decomposition of cumylperoxy(trimethyl)silane on the pressure in anisole, cumene, and tert-butylbenzene has been observed. 3. A probable model of the thermal transformations of organosilicon peroxides has been proposed which includes a process of complex-formation in the general scheme of reactions and satisfactorily describes the pressure effect found.
