Conclusions 1. The embrittlement of two-phase steel 1G36Yu6M2 at 650–900°C is due to the formation of a phase with a structure of the β-manganese type. 2. Raising the quenching temperature increases the amount of δ-ferrite, although at 1200–1250°C it decomposes with formation of secondary austenite. 3. The optimal moderating heat treatment for steel 1G36Yu6M2 is quenching from 1000°C.
