    Notes: Abstract An experimental investigation has established that in a glass laminate most of the mechanical losses are converted into thermal energy. The sum of the mechanical losses increases with increase in the fatigue life of the material, the ratio of thermal losses remaining constant under given deformation conditions. Quantitative data are presented for the energy dissipation in various phases of the fatigue fracture process.
