Conclusions 1. The use of metallic zinc-aluminum coatings is convenient for steel equipment operating in the atmosphere and in the variable water level zone in hydraulic structures. The surfaces thus protected require practically no maintenance; this, in turn, permits reducing the number of operation workers. 2. The metallization work can be carried out by specially trained personnel in open areas during the summer. 3. As part of the system of the Ministry of Power and Electrification of the USSR, it would be convenient to organize specialized sections, and in the future to create special organizations, for carrying out work on the application of different types of metallic coatings. 4. The equipment in the metallization areas is not complicated and can be easily fabricated at the hydroelectric plants.
