Notes: Conclusions 1. In order to ensure the required durability of powerhouses in the Far North it is necessary to take into account the operating conditions, namely: the distance between the plant and the industrial centers, the limited possibilities for carrying out major repairs, the hydrostatic and dynamic loads on all elements, and the winter and humidity regimens of operation of the external walls. 2. Construction of the generator room should follow the specifications for maximum industrialization of the construction work. Taking into account the need for combining construction and erection work during the period before placing the plant in operation, the short duration of the summer period, and the pressures toward reduction of the total time of completion, it is advisable to contemplate the prefabrication not only of the frame and roof of the powerhouses, but also of their walls. 3. Replacement of the small reinforced-concrete lining slabs and plaster by large slabs, erection of the slabs ahead of construction of the brick walls, and prefabrication of the facade walls from brick blocks and glazed panels made it possible to combine the construction and erection work, to industrialize construction of the walls, to increase the durability of the linings, and to ensure a timely operation of the plant.
