    Notes: Summary Using paper electrophoresis, the author found that when human hemoglobin is added to human sera, it is captured by a fraction of theα 2-globulin, which results in a compound with an electrophoretic mobility between that ofα 2-globulin andβ-globulin. He identifies this fraction of theα 2-globulin with the haptoglobin discovered byJayle. This phenomenon may influence the estimation ofα 2-globulin even in slightly hemolytic sera.
