Notes:
Three new bis(phthalonitrile) monomers carrying flexible aliphatic polyether sequences were synthesized and thermally polymerized to yield crosslinked poly(metal-free phthalocyanine) networks. The procedure of thermal conversion of bis(phthalonitrile) monomers involved an oxidoreduction reaction initiated by the alcohol functional group of a benzhydrol phthalonitrile coreactant. The phthalocyanine polymeric networks were characterized by FT-IR, TGA, TMA, and x-ray diffraction. Their electrical dc conductive properties were studied in a pure and an iodine-doped state.
