The First Oxomanganate(V) with Chains Consisting of Six- and Eight Membered Rings; Na10{Li2[MnO4]4}By heating of well ground mixtures of the oxides [Na2O2 and LimnO4, Na:Mn = 2.8:1, Ag-tube, 580°C, 30 d] blue-green, orthorhombic single crystals of Na10{Li2[MnO4]4} have been prepared the first time. The structure determination (four circle diffractometer, MoKα, 2450 of 2469 I0(hkl), R = 8.6%, Rw = 3.6%) confirms the space group Pnma (No. 62); a = 1048,1(7), b = 1518.4(9), c = 1044.4(6) pm.Essential part of the structure are hitherto unknown connections of [MnO4] and [LiO4] groups to linear chains, which consist of six- and eight-membered rings out of O—Li—O—Mn—O. The structure is described via Schlegel diagrams. The Madelung Part of Lattice Energy. MAPLE, the Effective Coordination Numbers, ECoN, and the charge distribution have been calculated and discussed.

Durch Tempern inniger Gemenge der Oxide [Na2O2 und LiMnO4, Na:Mn = 2,8:1, Ag-Bömbchen, 580°C, 30 d] wurden erstmals blaugrüne, orthorhombische Einkristalle von Na10{Li2[MnO4]4} erhalten. Die Strukturaufklärung (Vierkreisdiffraktometer, MoKα, 2450 von 2469 I0(hkl), R = 8,6%, Rw = 3,6%) belegt die Raumgruppe Pnma (Nr. 62); a = 1048,1(7), b = 1518,4(9), c = 1044,4(6) pm.Wesentlicher Teil der Struktur ist eine bislang unbekannte Verknüpfung von [MnO4]- und [LiO4]-Baugruppen zu linearen Ketten, die aus Sechs- und Achtringen der Abfolge O—Li—O—Mn—O bestehen. Die Strukturbeschreibung erfolgt mit Hilfe von Schlegeldiagrammen. Der Madelunganteil der Gitterenergie, MAPLE, Effektive Koordinationszahlen, ECoN und die Ladungsverteilung wurden berechnet und diskutiert.
