    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Characterization of Some trans-Ammonium Tetrahalobisamintungstates(III) with Ammonia as Solvate(LH)[WX4(L)2] (X = Cl, Br; L = 4-methylpyridine, 4-pic; pyridine, py) react at low temperature with ammonia dissolved in several solvents to NH4[WX4(L)2] · L · L1 (1.: X = Br, L - 4-pic, L1 = NH3; 2. and 3.: X = Cl, Br, L = py, L1 = NH3; 4.: X = Cl, L = py, L1 = H2O). Crystal structure of NH4[WBr4(4-pic)2] · 4-pic · NH3: monoclinic, space group P21/n, a = 11.037(5), b = 13.760(5), c = 17.341(8) Å, Z = 4. The unit cell contains trans-[WBr4(4-pic)2]- anions and cations (4-pic…NH4+…NH3) where 4-pic and NH3 are hydrogen bonded to NH4+ at 2.92(4) and 2.90(5) Å. Average W—Br and W—N(4-pic) bonds are 2.56 and 2,23 Å.The compounds are unstable towards oxidation and thermally. They oxidise to WX4(L)2. In diluted water solutions as well as in the solid state at temperatures higher then 20°C the decomposition to (LH)[WX4(L)2] takes place.The pair NH4[WX4(py)2] · py · NH3 (X = Cl, Br) is isostructural.
    Notes: Die Umsetzung von (LH)[WX4(L)2] (X = Cl, Br; L = 4-Methylpyridin, 4-pic; Pyridin, py) mit in verschiedenen Lösungsmitteln gelöstem Ammoniak bei niedrigen Temperaturen führt zu NH4[WX4(L)2] · L · L1 (1.: X = Br, L = 4-pic, L1 = NH3; 2. und 3.: X = Cl, Br; L = py, L1 = NH3; 4.: X = Cl, L = py, L1 = H2O).NH4[WBr4(4-pic)2] · 4-pic · NH3 kristallisiert monoklin, Raumgruppe P21/n, a = 11,037(5), b = 13,760(5), c = 17,341(8) Å, β = 102,73(3)°, Z = 4. Die Verbindung ist aufgebaut aus isolierten trans-[WBr4(4-pic)2]--Anionen und isolierten, durch zwei Wasserstoffbindungen verknüpfte, dreikernige Kationen (4-pic…NH4+…NH3). Die mittleren W—Br- und W—N(4-pic)-Abstände sind 2,56 bzw. 2,23 Å. Die Wasserstoffbindungen innerhalb des Kations betragen 2,92(4) und 2,90(5) Å.Die Verbindungen sind thermisch und gegenüber Sauerstoff außerordentlich unbeständig. Das Oxidationsprodukt ist WX4(L)2. In verdünnten wäßrigen Lösungen und im festen Zustand zerfallen die Verbindungen bereits knapp über 20°C zu (LH)[WX4(L)2]. NH4[WX4(py)2] · py · NH3 (X = Cl, Br) sind isostrukturell.
