Investigations on Metal Catalysts. XXIII.Catalytic Properties of Pt—Ru and η-Al2O3 Supported Pt—Ru CatalystsRuthenium-containing Pt catalysts (unsupported and η-Al2O3 supported samples) were investigated with regard to their catalytic behaviour in the dehydrogenation of cyclohexane, hydrogenolysis of ethane, and n-heptane conversion, respectively. The results can be explained in a first approximation by the beginning of the formation of alloy at the surface of the metal crystallites.

Das katalytische Verhalten trägerfreier Pt—Ru— und Pt—Ru/η-Al2O3-Katalysatoren wurde mittels der Cyclohexandehydrierung, Ethanhydrogenolyse und n-Heptan-Umwandlung untersucht. Die Ergebnisse können in erster Näherung durch die an der Metallkristallit-Oberfläche beginnende Legierungsbildung erklärt werden.
