Preparation and crystal Structure of Gold Barium Thiostannate(IV), Au2,BaSnS4Preparation and properties of the hitherto unknown Au2,BaSnS4 are reported. The single crystal X-ray analysis shows that the crystals form mosaic blocks. The units cell has orthorhombic symmetry with a = 1098.2 ± 0.4; b = 1109.3 ± 0.4; c = 665.2 ± 0.4 pm and contains Z = 4 formula units. Space group: D23—P21212 (No. 18). The crystal structure is discussed in respect of those of Cu2BaSnS4 [1] and Ag2BaSnS4 [2, 3] known from our earlier communications.

Es wird über die Darstellung und die Eigenschaften der neuen Verbindung Au2,BaSnS4 berichet. Die Strukturanalyse mit Röntgeneinkristalldaten ergibt eine Blockstruktur mit: a = 1098,2 ± 0,4; b= 1109,3 ± 0.4; c = 665,2 ± 0,4 pm, Raumgruppe D23—P21212 (Nr. 18) orthorhombisch und Z = 4 Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle. Die Kristallstruktur von Au2,BaSnS4 wird beschrieben und zusammen mit den Ergebnissen früherer Untersuchungen an Cu2BaSnS4[1] und Ag2,BaSnS4 [2, 3] diskutiert.
