Crystal Structure of Ammonium Dioxo-di-μ-oxo-dimolybdateThe binuclear, diamagnetic or weakly paramagnetic oxofluoromolybdates(V) (NH4)2[Mo2O4F4(H2O)2], (NH4)4[Mo2O4F6], Na4[Mo2O4F6] · 3NaF and [N(CH3)4]2[Mo2O4F4] have been prepared. They all contain the dioxo-di-μ-oxo-dimolybdate group. (NH4)2[Mo2O4F4(H2O)2] crystallizes in the space group C2/c with 4 formula units per unit cell and a = 9.322(3) Å, b = 13.918(2) Å, c = 7.958(3) Å, and β = 113.22(3)°. The anion has crystallographically C2-symmetry with cis-position of the two terminal Mo = O bonds. The fourmembered ring Mo2O2 is not planar. The Mo—Mo distance of 2.566(0) Å and the magnetic properties show the presence of a metal to metal bond. The infrared and Raman spectra have been discussed.A band at 750 cm-1 is assigned to the breathing vibration of the Mo2O2 ring.
    Notes: Die zweikernigen, diamagnetischen oder schwach paramagnetischen Oxofluoromolybdate(V) (NH4)2[Mo2O4F4(H2O)2], (NH4)4[Mo2O4F6], Na4[Mo2O4F6] · 3 NaF und [N(CH3)4]2[Mo2O4F4] wurden hergestellt. Sie enthalten alle die Dioxo-di-μ-oxo-dimolybdat(V)Gruppe. (NH4)2[Mo2O4F4(H2O)2] kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe C2/c mit a = 9,322(3) Å, b = 13,918(2) Å, c = 7,958(3) Å, β = 113,22(3)° und Z = 4. Das dimere Anion besitzt kristallographisch C2-Symmetrie. Die beiden terminalen Mo = O-Gruppen (Länge 1,681(2) Å) stehen in cis-Stellung zueinander. Der Mo2O2-Vierring ist nicht planar. Auf das Vorliegen einer Metall - Metall-Bindung weisen der Mo—Mo-Abstand von 2,566(0) Å und die magnetischen Eigenschaften hin. Die IR- und Raman-spektren werden diskutiert; eine Bande bei etwa 750 cm-1 wird der Pulsationsschwingung des Mo2O2-Rings zugeordnet.
