    Description / Table of Contents: Zinkmethoxid und-isopropoxid wurden aus ZnCl2 und dem entsprechenden Lithiumalkoxid dargestellt. Durch entsprechende Alkoholysen des Methoxides wurden die Alkoxide Zn(OR)2 mit R = Et, n-But, t-But und n-C8H17 erhalten. Sie alle sind nichtflüchtig und in Alkoholen und anderen organischen Solventien unlöslich.Aus ZnCl2 und LiOEt bildet sich nicht Zn(OEt)2, da Komplexbildung zu löslichen Produkten des Typs LixZn(OEt)2Clx eintritt. In einigen Fällen wurden lösliche Li/Zn-Doppelalkoxide isoliert.
    Notes: Zinc methoxide and isopropoxide were prepared by the reaction of zinc chloride with the appropriate lithium alkoxide and a few other alkoxides, Zn(OR)2 (where R = Et, Bun, But and C8H17n) have been synthesized by the alcoholysis of methoxide. All these alkoxides are non-volatile and insoluble in alcohols and other organic solvents. The non-formation of insoluble zinc ethoxide from zinc chloride by treating it with lithium ethoxide was found to be due to its complexing tendency with lithium chloride, giving soluble products of the type LixZn(OEt)2Clx. A few soluble double alkoxides of lithium and zinc have also been isolated.
