Description / Table of Contents: Manganese(III) chloride reacts with amines mainly to 1:3 adducts. These are moisture-sensitive, but stable at room temperature. With α,α′-dipyridyl and o, o′-phenanthroline water soluble complexes result, in which the chlorine atoms may be substituted by other anions.  -  Similar addition compounds with ethers decompose at room temperature.Reaction of manganese(III) chloride with acetylacetone causes substitution of one or two chlorine atoms by the diketone.
