The phosphates of the type MeII0.5Th0.5PO4 with MeII = Cd, Ca, Sr and Pb, being thermally prepared at 1000-1200°C, are isostructural with huttonite, ThSiO4. Whereas the corresponding arsenates, Me0.5IITh0.5 AsO4, in the case of MeII = Ba, Pb and Sr have also huttonite structure, Ca0.5Th0.5AsO4 has a second zircon-type structure. Cd0.5Th0.5AsO4 only exists in the structure of zircon.Attempts to prepare the analogous chromates (V) by thermal decomposition of suitable compound mixtures have been without success.

Die Phosphate des Typs MeII0,5Th0,5PO4 (MeII = Cd, Ca, Sr, Pb) kristallisieren ohne Ausnahme in der Struktur des Huttonits (ThSiO4). Alle vier Verbindungen können auf thermischem Wege bei 1000-1200°C dargestellt werden. Die entsprechenden Arsenate, MeII0,5Th0,5AsO4, weisen für MeII = Ba, Pb und Sr ebenfalls Huttonitstruktur auf. Beim Ca0,5Th0,5AsO4 existiert neben letzterer eine zweite Modifikation mit Zirkonstruktur, die beim Cd0,5Th0,5AsO4 ausschließlich auftritt. Für diese beiden Verbindungen werden die Gitterdimensionen angegeben. Versuche zur Darstellung analoger Chromate(V) blieben ohne Erfolg. Der Verlauf des thermischen Abbaus von Gemischen aus Th(CrO4)2 und SrCO3, CaCO3 oder Ca(OH)2 wurde aufgeklärt.
