    Description / Table of Contents: By heating BeB12 with BCl3 in a closed tube, Be is substituted by B without changing of the crystal structure. The obtained boron is of 〉 99% purity and tetragonal structure. By this reaction the structural relation between BeB12 and the tetragonal boron modification was proved. IR examinations of α-boron, tetragonal boron and BeB12 allowed the assignment of internal vibrations of the B12-icosaedrons and of lattice vibrations.
    Notes: Durch Erhitzen von feinkristallinem BeB12 mit BCl3 im Einschlußrohr läßt sich Be im BeB12 unter Beibehaltung der Kristallstruktur durch B substituieren. Man erhält so Bor von 〉 99% Reinheit und einheitlich tetragonaler Struktur. Der gleichartige Bau des BeB12 und des tetragonalen Bors konnte durch diese Umwandlung bestlätigt werden. Infrarotspektroskopische Messungen an α-Bor, tetragonalem Bor und BeB12 crmöglichen die Zuordnung von inneren Schwingungen der B12-Ikosaeder und von Gitterschwingungen.
