Description / Table of Contents: Boiling solutions of metal(II) sulphates react with freshly precipitated HgO forming CoSO4 · 2 HgO, MnSO4 · 2 HgO, CuSO4 · 2 HgO, and ZnSO4 · 2 HgO, which are analogous to HgSO4 · 2 HgO. Furthermore, CdSO4 · 1.67 HgO · 0,33 H2O and NiSO4 · HgO · H2O are formed. The substances have characteristical X-ray diagrams, they are stable against cold water, become destroyed by hot water and are soluble in diluted mineral acids.
