Anhydrous amorphous white tin(IV)oxidechloride, SnOCl2, can be obtained by the reaction of C12O with SnCl2, with good yields. SnOCl2, is a very hygroscopic solid, it is insoluble in nonpolar solvents. From POCl3, the addition compound SnOC12 · 2 POCl3 cristallizes; with dry pyridine, SnOCl2 · 1,5 pyridine can be prepared. The IR-spectra are discussed.

Bei der Umsetzung von gasförmigem Dichlormonoxid mit Zinntetrachlorid bei Raumtemperatur entsteht in guter Ausbeute wasserfreies Zinn(IV)-Oxidchlorid, SnOCl2. Die Verbindung ist ein weißer, amorpher, sehr hygroskopischer Stoff, der in unpolaren Lösungsmitteln sehr schwer löslich ist. Aus der Lösung in POCl3 kristallisiert die Verbindung SnOCl2 · 2 POCl3, während mit wasserfreiem Pyridin die Additionsverbindung SnOCl2 · 1,5 Pyridin entsteht. Die IR-Spektren werden diskutiert.
