The enthalpy of formation of tantalum tetrachloride has been estimated by determination of the heat of solution; δDLH(TaCl4, 298) = -168.8 ± 0.5 kcal/mole.The enthalpie of formation of TaCl5(s), TaCl5(g), TaCl4(s), TaCl4(g), and TaCl3(s) as also estimated values of their standard entropies and Cp-functions are given. All the data permit a clear interpretation of the hitherto known experimental results on the lower tantalum chlorides.

Die Bildungsenthalpie des Tantaltetrachlorids wurde im Lösungscalorimeter gemessen δDLH(TaCl4, 298) = -168,8 ± 0,5 kcal/Mol.Für die Stoffe TaCl5 f, TaCl5 g, TaCl4 f, TaCl4 g und TaCl3 f sind jetzt die Bildung enthalpien verfügbar. Diese, sowie geschätzte Werte für die Normalentropien und Cp-Funktionen werden mitgeteilt. Das damit vorhandene Zahlenmaterial gestattet widerspruchsfreie Deutung aller mit niederen Tantalchloriden vorliegenden experimentellen Befunde.
