Notes:
The radiation stability and the thermal stability of ordinary (C12H10) and deutero (C12D10) diphenyl have been measured and compared. Deuterodiphenyl is more stable than the ordinary diphenyl by a factor of about 2, for pyrolysis at 460°C as well as for radiolysis at 30-40°C and at 310°C. This difference is of practical importance for the consideration of deutero-diphenyl as coolant for power reactors.
