Gasphase Reactions, 32. Cyanation of Hydrocarbons: Analysis and Optimization Using Ionisation PatternsSaturated and unsaturated, open-chain and cyclin hydrocarbons can be cyanated in the gaseous phase using cyanogen at elevated temperature and splitting off HCN. Advantageously, the gas analysis in the respective flow system is based on the characteristic PE-spectroscopic „finger prints“ of nitriles, especially of NCCN and HCN. In the following are presented: set-up of the gas analysis, attempts to prepare malononitrile from acetonitrile and cyanogen and its thermal decomposition, the preparation of benzyl cyanide from toluene and, last but not least, the optimization of heterogeneously catalyzed gas phase cyanation of benzene.

Gesättigte und ungesättigte, offenkettige und cyclische Kohlenwasserstoffe lassen sich mit Dicyan in der Gasphase bei erhöhter Temperatur unter HCN-Abspaltung cyanieren. Die Gasanalytik in den strömenden Systemen stützt sich vorteilhaft auf die charakteristischen PE-spektroskopischen „Fingerabdrücke“ von Nitrilen, insbesondere von NCCN und HCN. Es werden beschrieben: Die Ausarbeitung der Gasanalytik, Versuche zur Darstellung von Malononitril aus Acetonitril und Dicyan sowie seine thermische Zersetzung, die Darstellung von Benzylcyanid aus Toluol sowie schließlich die Ausarbeitung der heterogen-katalysierten Gasphasen-Cyanierung von Benzol.
