    Description / Table of Contents: (C6H6)n-Hydrocarbons1) Specific Reactions at the Bicyclo[2.2.2]octadiene Part of Hexacyclo[9.3.2.24,7 .02,9 .03,8 .010,12]-octadeca-5,13,15,17-tetraeneThe title compound 1 contains diastereotopic double bonds in the homotropilidene and bicyclo-[2.2.2]octadiene parts. The non-conjugated diene part reacts with Fe2 (CO)9 to give the tricarbonyliron complex 14 in 41% yield. By hydrogenation in the presence of the homogenous catalyst tris(triphenylphosphine)rhodium(1) chloride (2) only the 5,6-double bond is saturated. Assignement of the double bonds was achieved with the help of specifically deuterated samples. The results are discussed.
    Notes: Die Titelverbindung 1 enthält diastereotope Doppelbindungen im Homotropiliden- und Bicyclo-[2.2.2]octadienteil. Mit Fe2 (CO)9 reagiert der nichtkonjugierte Dienteil mit 41% Ausbeute zum Tricarbonyleisen-Komplex 14. Bei der Hydrierung mit dem homogenen Tris(triphenylphosphin)-rhodium(1)-chlorid-Katalysator (2) wird nur die 5,6-Doppelbindung abgesättigt. Die Zuordnung der Doppelbindungen erfolgte 1H-NMR-spektroskopisch an Hand spezifisch deuterierter Proben. Die Resultate werden diskutiert.
