Nucleosides, XXVII: Synthesis and Properties of Benzimidazole NucleosidesBenzimidazole-N1-α- (7) and -β-D-ribofuranoside (4) have been synthesized again, characterized by NMR, UV, and CD spectra. The reported discrepancies of the melting points of 4 are explained by different amounts of water of crystallization. 1-β-D-Ribofuranosyl-2-thioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzimidazole (11) has been desulfurized to 4 as well as alkylated to various 2-(alkylthio) derivatives 12-15.

Benzimidazol-N1-α- (7) und -β-D-ribofuranosid (4) werden erneut synthetisiert und durch NMR-, UV- und CD-Spektren charakterisiert. Die beschriebenen Schmelzpunktsdiskrepanzen von 4 werden durch unterschiedlichen Kristallwassergehalt erklärt. Das 1-β-D-Ribofuranosyl-2-thioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzimidazol (11)-benzimidazol (11) wird zu 4 entschwefelt bzw. durch Alkylierung in verschiedene 2-(Alkylthio)-Derivate 12-15 übergeführt.
