    Description / Table of Contents: Reaction of 4H-1,3-Benzothiazin-4-ones with Grignard ReagentsThe reaction of 2-phenyl-4H-1,3-benzothiazin-4-ones 1 with Grignard reagents R'MgBr yields 2-phenyl-2-R′-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzothiazin-4-ones (2a-e) and 2-phenyl-4-R′4-H-benzothiazin-4-ols (3a, b). In the case of R′ = C6H5CH2 4-benzylidene-6,7-dimethoxy-2-phenyl-4H-benzothiazine (4) was isolated (besides 2e) probably formed via the unisolable intermediate 3 c. The structure of the compounds was proved by i. r. and n. m. r. methods.
    Notes: Bei der Reaktion von 2-Phenyl-4H-1,3-benzothiazin-4-onen 1 mit Grignard-Verbindungen R'MgBr bilden sich 2-Phenyl-2-R′-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzothiazin-4-one (2a-e) und 2-Phenyl-4-R′-4H-benzothiazin-4-ole (3a, b). Im Falle von R′ = C6H5CH2 entsteht neben 2e - wahrscheinlich über das nicht isolierbare Zwischenprodukt 3c - 4-Benzyliden-6,7-dimethoxy-2-phenyl-4H-benzothiazin (4). Die Strukturen der erhaltenen Verbindungen wurden IR- und NMR-spektroskopisch bewiesen.
