Photochemical Isomerisation of DibenzonorbornadienesThe dibenzonorbornadienes 3a and b are synthesized. The corresponding fluorenes 5 or 8 are obtained by direct irradiation. The carbene 9 is trapped as an intermediate during the photolysis in the presence of isobutene. The thermal rearrangement of 1c to 14 and its mechanism are discussed.

Die Dibenzonorbornadiene 3a und b werden synthetisiert. Durch direkte Lichtanregung erhält man die entsprechenden Fluorene 5 bzw. 8. Bei der Belichtung in Gegenwart von Isobutylen läßt sich das als Zwischenstufe auftretende Carben 9 abfangen. Der Mechanismus der thermischen Isomerisierung von 1c zu 14 wird diskutiert.
