Complexes of the Alkali Silanolate ClustersThe various cluster-type oligomers of the alkali trimethylsilanolates Li-, Na-, and K-OSi(CH3)3 were found to form tetrameric 1:1 complexes with trimethylphosphine oxide (1-3). These compounds are assigned a cubane structure, with the metals being in a tetrahedral coordination sphere, on the basis of molecular weight measurements and analytical and spectroscopic data. The stability of the complexes is shown to decrease with increasing radius of the metals.

Die je nach Aggregatzustand und Lösungsmittel in verschiedenen cluster-artigen Oligomeren vorkommenden Alkali-trimethylsilanolate Li-, Na- oder K-OSi(CH3)3 bilden mit Trimethyl-phosphinoxid tetramere Komplexe (1-3), denen auf Grund von analytischen Daten, Molekulargewichtsbestimmungen und spektroskopischen Befunden eine Kuban-Struktur mit tetraedrisch koordinierten Metallatomen zugeschrieben wird. Die Beständigkeit der Koordinationsverbindungen nimmt mit der Größe des Metallatoms rasch ab.
