Tetramethoxyethylene, VIII. Reaction of Tetramethoxyethylene with Tosyl AzideTetramethoxyethylene (1a) and tosyl azide (2) yield the imidocarbonate 3a in a reaction that is first order with respect to each of the reactants. These data as well as cross-over experiments with isotopically labelled 1a exclude any dissociation of 1a into two molecules of dimethoxy-carbene (5) under the conditions applied.

Die Umsetzung von Tetramethoxy-äthylen (1a) mit p-Toluolsulfonsäure-azid (2) liefert in einer Reaktion, die erster Ordnung bezüglich jeder der Komponenten ist, das Kohlensäure-Derivat 3a. Eine Dissoziation von 1a in zwei Moleküle Dimethoxy-carben (5) unter den angewandten Bedingungen wird dadurch wie auch durch Kreuzungsversuche an isotopenmarkiertem 1a ausgeschlossen.
