Aromatic Phosphines with Second Order Substituents, XI. NitrophenylphosphinesTriaryl- and alkyl-diarylphosphines with several m-nitro groups, unavailable by existing methods, are easily prepared by nitration with nitronium tetrafluoroborate, provided that oxidation at phosphorus is suppressed by means of a protecting group. Reaction of the new phosphines with sulfur does not reveal a + M effect of phosphine phosphorus.

Die bislang unzugänglichen Triaryl- und Alkyl-diaryl-phosphine mit mehreren m-Nitrogruppen können auf einfache Weise durch Nitrierung mit Nitronium-tetrafluoroborat gewonnen werden, wenn der Phosphor durch eine Schutzgruppe vor Oxydation bewahrt wird. Die Reaktion der neuen Phosphine mit Schwefel läßt keinen + M Effekt des Phosphin-Phosphors erkennen.
