    Description / Table of Contents: Creep rupture strength of G - X 40 CrNiSi 25 20 steel. The material most commonly used at present for chemical furnace construction is G-X 40 CrNiSi 25 20 steel. Although extensive information is available with regard to the use of this alloy in reforming furnaces, there are hardly any data in the literature on the long-term behaviour as determined in creep rupture tests. The experiments described served to determine the creep rupture strength characteristics for dimensioning reformer pipes. On the basis of the results obtained in testing four different batches of G-X 40 CrNiSi 25 20 steel an attempt has been made to determine the scatter of the creep rupture strengths valid for this alloy.
    Notes: Der im Chemieofenbau z. Z. am häufigsten verwendete Werkstoff ist der G-X 40 CrNiSi 25 20. Obwohl für diese Legierung bereits umfangreiche Betriebserfahrungen über den Einsatz in Reformeröfen vorliegen, sind in der Literatur bisher kaum Daten über das im Zeitstandversuch ermittelte Langzeitverhalten zu finden. Die beschriebenen Versuche dienten der Ermittlung von Zeitstandfestigkeitskennwerten zur Dimensionierung von Reformerrohren. Anhand von vier verschiedenen, im Zeitstandversuch geprüften, Chargen des Stahles G-X 40 CrNiSi 25 20 wurde versucht, ein für diesen Werkstoff gültiges Streuband der Zeitstandfestigkeitskennwerte aufzuzeichnen.
