Notes:
Nonlinear optical properties of solution of substituted polyaniline (PANI), such as polytoluidine (POT), Br-POT, and Br-PANI, were measured by the degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) method as a function of the concentration of solution and the protonation state. The observed nonlinear optical properties are intrinsic and might be related to the resonance effect and the photoexcitation of the molecule on the quinoid ring of the polyemeraldine chain. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
