Rearrangements of Vinylogous Acyl Chlorides, XXV. 1,5-Pentadiene-Oxygen Transfer of (Z)-3,4,5,5-Tetrachloro-2-phenyl- and (Z)-2,3,5,5-Tetra-chloro-4-phenyl-2,4-pentadienalThe pentadienals 2a, b are prepared from the acyl chlorides 1a, b. The phenylhydrazones 6 and the oximes 7 of both aldehydes undergo cyclization reactions to the pyridine derivatives 10 and 11, respectively, which is further converted into 12. - During the thermal rearrangements of 2a, b into the acyl chlorides 5a, b, at 65.2°C2H-pyran intermediates 3a or 4a respectively 3b and 4b are indicated by IR and 1H NMR spectra. The reaction 2a → 5a is as usual complete, while from 2b an equilibrium with 30% 4b and 70% 5b is evolved. Preparative evidence for 1,5-pentadiene-oxygen transfer is given by conversion of 2a, b and the acids 9a, b (corresponding to 5a, b) into the 2-pyrones 8a, b. Hydrolysis of the equilibrium mixture obtained from 2b yields 8b and the 4-pyrone 13 indicating the presence of 4b.

Die Pentadienale 2a, b werden aus den Säurechloriden 1a, b dargestellt. Die Phenylhydrazone 6 und Oxime 7 beider Aldehyde cyclisieren zu den Pyridinderivaten 10 bzw. 11, das weiter in 12 umgewandelt wird. - Im Verlauf der thermischen Umlagerung von 2a, b in die Säurechloride 5a, b bei 65.2°C sind die 2H-Pyran-Zwischenstufen 3a oder 4a bzw. 3b und 4b in den IR- und 1H-NMR-Spektren sichtbar. Die Reaktion 2a → 5a ist wie gewöhnlich vollständig, während die von 2b zu einem Gleichgewicht mit 30% 4b und 70% 5b führt. Präparativ ist die 1,5-Pentadien-Sauerstoffverschiebung durch Überführung von 2a, b und der 5a, b entsprechenden Säuren 9a, b in die 2-Pyrone 8a, b gesichert. Die Hydrolyse der aus 2b erhaltenen Gleichgewichtsmischung liefert 8b und das 4-Pyron 13, was die Anwesenheit von 4b beweist.
