The crystal structure of the 2′,6′-dimethoxyflavone-2,6-dimethoxybenzoic acid complex was determined. Owing steric hindrance of the methoxy groups, the two H-bonded molecules are twisted. Earlier results were used to establish a relationship between the pKa values of different acids and their hydrogen bond distances in complexes with 2′,6′-dimethoxyflavone. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
