Description:
Androgen formation (3beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity) was detectable in the rabbit blastocyst on day 5 of gestation (before implantation); estrogen formation was first detectable on day 7. The capacity to form estrogen on the day of implantation suggests that estrogen formation in the blastocyst may play a role in the implantation process.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉George, F W -- Wilson, J D -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 1978 Jan 13;199(4325):200-1.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/579477" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉
