Chemistry and Pharmacology
The discovery of trifluorodomethane some 14 years ago opened up a wide range of possibilitis for the preparation of new organometallic and organometalloidal compounds containing fluroalkyl radicals. Simultaneously it offered for the first time the possibility of enamining and explaining the differences between such compounds and their alkyl or aryl analogues. A brief recaptiulation of some earlier results is given, followed by a review of recent progress, espically in the chemistry of fluoroalkyls of sulphur and nitrogen as well as certain of the metallic elememts.
