    Description: In dieser Abschrift der Bergordnung wurden zur besseren Übersicht noch einmal die 23 Paragrafen der Kremnitzer Bergordnung von 1492 aufgeführt. Im Jahr 1504 wurden drei Paragrafen hinzugefügt. Im Jahr 1537 erließ Oberkammergrafen Bernhard Behem weitere 21 Paragrafen. Der Bergmeister wurde hier zur obersten Amtsperson im Revier erklärt und entsprechend vereidigt. Beschrieben wurden ausführlich seine Rechte und Pflichten.

    Description: Diese Bergordnung, erlassen im Jahr 1520, wiederholt die 103 Paragrafen der Annaberger Bergordnung aus dem Jahr 1509 sowie die dort aufgeführten Eide. Zusätzlich wurden ihr weitere 32 Paragrafen hinzugefügt, die in der Zeit zwischen 1510 und 1519 erlassen wurden. Mit dem Druck der neuen Bergordnung wollte man den Text der alten Bergordnung und die inzwischen erlassenen Paragrafen in einem Buch zusammenfassen. Obwohl auch in den neuen Paragrafen immer wieder Bezug auf Annaberg genommen wurde, war es aber schon in der Einleitung deutlich, dass diese Bergordnung für die gesamte Grafschaft Sachsen Gültigkeit hatte. Ausgenommen, waren auch hier die Bergwerke in Freiberg.

    Description: Um das Jahr 1540 erließen die Herren zu Franckenstein und die Herren von Heusenstamm eine Bergordnung für die Bergwerke in Espa im Taunus. Als Vorlage für diese Bergordnung diente eine Abschrift der Bergordnung der Grafen von Hohnstein vom 3. Februar 1528 für die Bergwerke in der Grafschaft Lauterberg. Es wurden aber nicht alle Paragrafen übernommen. Es fehlen eine Abschlusserklärung mit den Anwendungsbestimmungen sowie ein Datum zum Erlass dieser Bergordnung. Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich bei dieser Bergordnung um einen unveröffentlichten Entwurf. Eine weitere Bergordnung für dieses Gebiet ist aber nicht bekannt.

    Description: Im Jahr 1529 erließ Herzog Georg von Sachsen eine neue Bergordnung für die Bergwerke in Freiberg. Im Gegensatz zum Erzgebirge, wo die 1509 erlassene Annaberger Bergordnung allgemeine Gültigkeit erlangt hatte, beharrte der Rat zu Freiberg auf ein in Teilen eigenständiges Bergrecht für die Stadt. Die Freiberger Bergordnung wurde vom Rat zu Freiberg gemeinsam mit den Gewerken im Beisein von Herzog Georg erstellt. In den 38 Artikeln wurde im Wesentlichen der Inhalt der Annaberger Bergordnung wiederholt. Neu für Freiberg war die Abrechnung und Austeilung sowie Veranschlagung der Zubuße in einem festgesetzten Zeitraum. Im Gegensatz zur Abrechnung in vier Quartalen, wie es im Erzgebirge seit 1476 Vorschrift war, erfolgte diese in Freiberg zu drei Terminen im Jahr. Weiterhin wurde darauf verwiesen, dass die Freiberger Bergbeamten die Eide analog der Annaberger Bergordnung leisten sollten.

    Description: Die Bergordnung für Schemnitz/Banská Štiavnica wurde im Jahr 1466 als Anhang zum Stadtrecht im Stadtbuch (1432 begonnen) niedergeschrieben. Von den 59 Paragrafen waren nur die Paragrafen 42 bis 59 für das das Bergrecht relevant. Die Entstehungszeit der Bergordnung geht auf die Regierungszeit König Béla IV. (1235-1270) zurück. Nach der Einleitung durch König Béla IV. beschreiben die Geschworenen der Stadt die Verleihung von Gruben, die Rechte und Pflichten beim Betrieb der Bergwerke, das Stollenrecht und die Vermessung der Gruben. Im Gegensatz zu späteren Bergordnungen wurden hier nicht aufgetretene Fehlentwicklungen geregelt, sondern bereits klare gesetzliche Regelungen für den Bergbau vorgegeben.

    Description: Diese im Jahr 1536 neu verfasste Bergordnung für Freiberg, erlassen von Herzog Georg von Sachsen wiederholt die 38 Artikel der Bergordnung von 1529. Zwischen 1530 und 1536 wird sie um vier weitere Artikel, unterteilt in 24 Absätze und einen Nachsatz, erweitert. Aus den angefügten Artikeln geht hervor, das die Bergordnung von 1529 nur widerwillig umgesetzt wurde. Die alte Bergordnung wird präzisiert, ein Hüttenraiter eingeführt und der Freiberger Rat mit Nachdruck aufgefordert die Durchsetzung der Bergordnung streng zu befolgen.

In den vier Paragrafen geht es um Zustand der Bergwerke, das ordentliche Vermessen der Gruben und die Zahlung des Zehnten. Weiterhin soll der offensichtlich dauerhafte Streit zwischen den Gewerken und den Hammermeistern um Menge und Qualität des Eisensteins beendet werden.

    Description: In der Bohrung Moosburg 4 wurden die Nichtkarbonate (HCl-Unlösliches; 45 Proben) der Karbonatgesteine vom Malm Alpha (Unteres Oxfordium) bis zum Malm Zeta (Oberes Tithonium) röntgendiffraktometrisch untersucht. Ziel war es, die bestehende lithostratigraphische Untergliederung genauer mineralogisch und tonmineralogisch zu untermauern, um diese in Malm-Bohrungen des Molasse-Untergrundes besser belegen zu können. Die Kombination von mineralogischen und tonmineralogischen röntgenographischen Untersuchungen der Nichtkarbonate ermöglichen es, unter Bezug zum Gamma-Log der Bohrung Moosburg SC4 eine Untergliederung in neun Einheiten (I – IX) zu definieren. Diese entspricht vom Malm Alpha bis Malm Zeta 3 weitgehend der lithostratigraphischen Unterteilung, wie sie von Meyer (1994) dokumentiert wird. Die von Meyer (1994) vorgenommene Positionierung des Malm Zeta 4-5 und die der als Purbeck definierten Schichtfolge müssen dagegen revidiert werden. Die Malm/ Purbeck-Grenze ist um 99 m ins Hangende zu legen. Damit entspricht der dort im Malm analysierte Bereich dem Untertithon und dem Obertithon. Karbonatgesteine des Purbeck wurden in der vorliegenden Studie nicht untersucht. Die Zuordnung der Einheiten I-VI zu den lithostratigraphischen Einheiten von Meyer (1994) ist gut. Es ist nur der obere Teil der Bohrung Moosburg 4 als Unteres und als Oberes Tithon neu zu definieren. Allgemein kann festgestellt werden, dass eine lithostratigraphische Untergliederung des Malm auf der Basis mineralogisch/tonmineralogischer Analysen der Nichtkarbonate erstellt werden kann. Diese Methode kann daher auch in neuen Bohrungen im Molassebecken zur Untergliederung der oberjurassischen Schichtfolge erfolgreich angewendet werden.

    Description: Bergordnung für St. Joachimsthal, vom 2. August 1518. Basis dieser Bergordnung bildet die Bergordnungen für St. Annaberg vom 5. Februar 1509. Die 103 Paragraphen der Annaberger Bergordnung wurden fast wortwörtlich übernommen. Es wurde der gesamte Bergwerksbetrieb, die Arbeit der Schmelzhütten und das Gericht in St. Joachimsthal geregelt. Auch die Eide der Bergbeamten wurden übernommen. In weiteren drei Paragraphen wurden die Entlohnung der Bergleute sowie die Lohnfortzahlung und das Arztgeld nach Arbeitsunfällen aufgeführt.

    Description: Tiefgreifende Hangbewegungen stellen neben Muren und Lawinen, welche durch Faktoren wie Extremniederschlagsereignisse und Unterschneidungsvorgänge entstehen, eine akute Gefahr für die Bevölkerung und die Infrastruktur im alpinen Raum dar (Moser 2013). Talzuschübe, oder auch DSGSD für Deep-seated Gravitational Slope Deformation (Crosta et al. 2013), sind großflächige und tiefgreifende Hangbewegungen im alpinen Raum. Im Rahmen dieser Untersuchungen erfolgte eine ingenieurgeologische Aufnahme des Dürnbachtals bei Neukirchen am Großvenediger mit der Erstellung von Hangprofilen und der Aufnahme des Trennflächengefüges. Weiter wurde der Einfluss der beidseitigen Talzuschübe auf den Wildbach und das Murereignis nach einem Starkniederschlagsereignis am 28.07.2022 analysiert. Zuletzt wurde eine Abschätzung des Gefahrenpotentials des Dürnbachs für den Ort Neukirchen am Großvenediger erstellt.

    Description: This data set integrates findings of 16 years (2005 to 2020) of collaborative monitoring efforts across multiple institutions in the Gulf of California.The data encompasses information of 13 species of marine herbivorous fishes belonging to five families: Acanthuridae, Girellidae, Kyphosidae, Pomacentridae and Scaridae. This database presents 884 records of biomass from 15,542 visual censuses assessed by scuba diving in 34 localities (comprising 268 rocky and coral reefs sites). Visual censuses consisted of belt transects (250 m2, 100 m2, and 60 m2) laid parallel to the coastline preserving a similar depth profiles. Along these transects, trained underwater monitors, identified the species, recorded the abundance of all the adult individuals of the 13 targeted species and visually estimated the total length (cm) of each fish. The information for each transect in the database, is presented as the biomass (grams per square meter), which was estimated based on the size per individual as well as the weight-length relationship for each species, available on the literature. In the database is also integrated the information of the latitude and longitude of each locality, type of management, localities in the Gulf of California, institutions, the initial and final year of data, total number of years, as well as the mean, standard deviation, sample size, slope (annual rate of change), probability value, standard error and minimum and maximum value calculated for each species within each locality. This dataset represents a historical reference point for the condition of the 13 species found in the Gulf of California. It can be used to perform evaluations of how herbivorous fish communities have changed over time and across different locations. This is particularly relevant due to the influence of global changes leading to tropicalization in the study area. Furthermore, this information holds significance as it supplies essential insights to those responsible for the management of protected zones in the Gulf and the broader eastern tropical Pacific region. communities have changed over time and across different locations.     Description: A newly developed method to derive melt pond bathymetry from aerial images allowed us to compile spatially fully resolved maps of pond depth on the MOSAiC floe from three measurement flights on 30 June, 17 July, and 22 July 2020. The pond bathymetry maps provide an unprecedented comprehensive insight into the spatial and temporal development of ponds and their geometry. They were derived to better understand pond evolution, determine the volume of water contained in the ponds, and eventually obtain improved parameterizations for ponds. The data is provided in GeoTIFF raster format, with every pixel in ponds containing the depth at that location in meters, downward negative. Pond bathymetry was calculated from orthomosaics and digital elevation models processed from helicopter aerial images collected on MOSAiC floe grid surveys. Pond bathymetry is stored in GeoTIFFs, containing pond depth in meters, in the negative downward direction. Only regions classified as ponds with the classification algorithm PASTA-ice are included. Some pond-like objects on the floe were classified as submerged ice/open water due to their visual appearance or connection to the floe edge and are therefore not included. The raster data is projected in WGS 84 / NSIDC Sea Ice Polar Stereographic North (EPSG:3413). It was derived from the orthomosaics and DEMs presented in doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.949433 and can therefore be overlaid directly with this data.

    Description: Concentrations of particulate and dissolved organic carbon from water samples collected throughout the ice-free season in the Lena River Delta, supplemented with samples from Central Siberian Rivers Kochechum and Nizhnyaya Tunguska. Particulate samples were obtained by filtering water through pre-combusted glass-fibre filters, dissolved organic matter was studied in the filtrate. Molar concentration ratios of organic carbon to nitrogen in particulate samples are additionally reported as well as stable carbon isotopic composition (δ13C in ‰ VPDB) and radiocarbon content (∆14C in ‰) of particulate and dissolved organic carbon.

    Description: This data set consists of isotopic and molecular information obtained from samples of particulate and dissolved organic matter collected throughout the ice-free season in the Lena River Delta, supplemented with samples from Central Siberian Rivers Kochechum and Nizhnyaya Tunguska. Particulate samples were obtained by filtering water through pre-combusted glass-fibre filters, dissolved organic matter was studied in the filtrate. Molar concentration ratios of organic carbon to nitrogen in particulate samples are additionally reported as well as stable carbon isotopic composition (δ13C in ‰ VPDB) and radiocarbon content (∆14C in ‰) of particulate and dissolved organic carbon. Concentrations of long-chain n-alkanes (n-C17 to n-C33) in suspended particulate matter samples collected on glass-fibre filters in the Lena Delta. The data set also contains stable hydrogen isotopic composition (δD) of odd-chain n-alkanes n-C23 to n-C31 expressed in permille relative to VSMOW. Contents of long-chain n-alkanes (n-C17 to n-C33) in soil samples as well as particles settled from a large-volume water sample collected in the Lena Delta.     Description: The data sets contains bulk organic data of sediment core GeoTü SL167. Total organic carbon and nitrogen measurements were carried out with an Euro EA3000 elemental analyser and δ15N measurements with a Thermo Scientific Flash EA1112 coupled to a Finnigan MAT 252 IRMS. Total organic carbon mass accumulation rates (TOC MAR) based on calculation using the organic carbon content and total mass accumulation rates. A description of the calculation of the total mass accumulations rates is given in Burdanowitz et al 2021. Gravity core GeoTü SL167, was retrieved at station no. 960 during R.V. METEOR cruise M74/1b in 2007 (Bohrmann et al., 2010) from the northwestern Arabian Sea off Oman, at 22°37.2'N, 59°41.5'E, 774 m water depth, core recovery 7.39 m. The sediment core was retrieved for the reconstruction of circulation and productivity changes in the eastern Mediterranean Sea during the late Quaternary with particular focus on changes in the Indian monsoon system.

    Description: In situ measurements from sparsely distributed networks worldwide are a valuable source of data for validating satellite products. However, the significant differences in spatial scale between in situ and satellite measurements pose a challenge for validation. To address this challenge, we propose a new global coarse pixel-scale ground truth dataset which provide sequential pixel scale albedo on a 500 m resolution over the period 2000-2021. The creation of data set is done using ground measurements from 368 sparsely distributed networks worldwide and high-resolution long-term time series data corresponding to site-based data. Furthermore, we carefully evaluate the effectiveness of the new dataset over sites with different degrees of spatial representativeness. The results demonstrate superior overall accuracy compared to in situ measurement, especially in regions with strong spatial heterogeneity while most in situ measurements have poor spatial representativeness and cannot represent the pixel scale. The dataset offers a unique collection of pixel-scale relative ground "truth" with the widest spatial distribution and longest time series. Its ability to capture both spatial and temporal variations of surface albedo at coarse spatial scales makes it an invaluable resource for validating and correcting global surface albedo products.

    Description: Liquid water content and total water content from the Nevzorov probe, collected during the HALO-AC³ campaign out of Longyearbyen, Svalbard in April 2022. The dataset contains measurements from the three collector sensors of the Nevzorov probe. These are the cylindrical LWC sensor, the 8 mm TWC cone and the 12 mm TWC cone (for a description of the probe see doi:10.1175/1520-0426(1998)015〈1495:TNAHWL〉2.0.CO;2, doi:10.5194/egusphere-2022-647 ). Furthermore, corrected LWC and TWC values are contained in the dataset. These values are best estimates of LWC and TWC. They are computed by solving a system of equations and they consider collection efficiencies, the different latent heats of water and ice and the sensitivity of the LWC sensor to ice particles. For a description of the computation see Lucke et al. (2023) (doi:10.4271/2023-01-1485). However, for this data, the 12 mm cone was not included in the computation, as its data were deemed to be too unreliable in conditions where droplet diameters are low. NaNs are represented as 9999.999 in the dataset. The dataset only contains research flight 8 - 13. For the previous flights a problem with the probe existed and no data was recorded.

The core was taken at 932 meters of water depth by gravity coring during cruise MSM44 in 2015 (Dorschel et al., 2016). The core consists of 1147 cm of sediment. For dinocyst analysis, it was sub-sampled every centimetre within the top 25 cm, every 5 cm within the 25 cm to 280 cm interval and every 10 cm within the 280 cm to 760 cm interval, including 124 samples. Sample processing followed the procedure for palynological preparation described in Vernal et al. (2010). The taxonomy of dinocysts used here was based on Rochon et al. (1999) and de Vernal et al. (2020). At least 300 dinocyst specimens were counted per sample when possible. For samples with low dinocyst abundance as many specimens as possible were enumerated. In the sample with lowest dinocyst abundance, 89 specimens were counted. The chronology has been provided by Saini et al. (2020).

    Description: Here we submitted modern core top radiolarian assemblage dataset in the Northwestern Australian Margin. The sample were collected during the German Sonne R/V Expedition SO 257. The dataset served as a calibration dataset to estimate past Summer Sea Surface Temperature (SST) of the Past using radiolarian species. We also submit herein IODP 363 Site U1483 (the Timor Sea), radiolarian assemblage data from the time interval between 500 and 1600 ka to discuss the impact of the Mid Pleistocene Transition on regional climate/ocean system such as the Indonesian Throughflow and the Australian Monsoon. For do so, we estimate the summer SST between 500 and 1600 ka relying on the SO 257 core top radiolarian assemblages.

    Description: The samples have been collected with R/V Polarstern during PS109 between September and October 2017. Sediment was collected with a camera-equipped MUC (TV-MUC; diameter of 93mm; circle area 0.007 m2) or with a benthic lander (dimensions 20 cmx20 cm; square area 0.04 m²), sliced into 0-5 cm and 5-10 cm layers and subsequently sieved over a 500 µm mesh. Afterwards, the samples were fixed with 4 % seawater-buffered formaldehyde in Kautex bottles at room temperature. In the lab, samples were stained with Rose Bengal and macrofauna and foraminifera individuals were identified to the lowest taxonomic level possible, and the blotted wet formalin weight of macrofauna individuals was measured with a precision balance (DeltaRange XP56 or AX205; Mettler Toledo, Ohio, USA).

    Description: Ex situ diffusive oxygen uptake (DOU) at the sediment water interface was assessed on the Northeast Greenland shelf with R/V Polarstern during PS109 between September and October 2017 using a camera-equipped multiple corer (TV-MUC; core area 0.007 m²). Upon arrival on deck, part of the overlying water of three MUC cores was collected and stored separately at in situ temperature. The remaining overlying water was adjusted to 10 cm above the sediment by gently pushing the sediment upwards while avoiding a disturbance of the surface sediment. The cores were then placed in a temperature-controlled water bath in the ship-board laboratory which had been adjusted to the in-situ temperature at the seafloor (information was retrieved from ship-board sensors). A mangetic stirrer was deployed in order to homogenise the overlying water, and a small air pump gently aerated the water. DOU was assessed with 2 oxygen optodes (Pyroscience, Firesting; tip size 50 µm) mounted on an autonomous microprofiler module. Each core was measured with two microprofilers simultaneously, usually within 2h of sampling (except for stations 139, 85, 84 and 76, where the measurement times were 〉24h). The sensors were two-point calibrated using on-board signals recorded in air saturated surface sea water and anoxic, dithionite-spiked bottom water at in situ temperature. Ex situ DOU fluxes across the sediment-water interface obtained were calculated from running average smoothed oxygen profiles using Fick's first law (Glud et al. (1994, doi:10.1016/0967-0637(94)90072-8).

    Description: Ex situ total oxygen uptake (DOU) at the sediment water interface was assessed on the Northeast Greenland shelf with R/V Polarstern during PS109 between September and October 2017 using a camera-equipped multiple corer (TV-MUC; core area 0.007 m2). Upon arrival on deck, part of the overlying water of three MUC cores was collected and stored separately at in situ temperature. The remaining overlying water was adjusted to 10m above the sediment by gently pushing the sediment upwards by avoiding a disturbance of the surface sediment. The cores were then placed in a temperature-controlled water bath in the ship-board laboratory which had been adjusted to the in-situ temperature at the seafloor (information was retrieved from ship-board sensors). A magnetic stirrer was deployed in order to homogenise the overlying water, and a small air pump gently aerated the water. After the assessment of diffusive oxygen uptake (DOU) by microprofiling, total oxygen uptake (TOU) was measured. The air pump was removed to ensure no air bubbles in the overlying water, and the cores were closed air tight. The oxygen concentration was measured continuously in the overlying water every 60 seconds for approximately 48hours (at least 36h). Total sediment oxygen flux was determined as the decrease in oxygen concentration in the water phase, which was read from the continuous oxygen sensor data. The oxygen sensors had been two-point calibrated using oxygen-saturated water and anoxic solution of sodium dithionite. The incubation was terminated at ≤ 80% initial [O2]. TOU fluxes were calculated from the initial linear decrease in O2 concentration versus time (first 30 h) in the enclosed overlying water body (Glud et al., 1994, doi:10.1016/0967-0637(94)90072-8).

    Description: This data set contains airborne gravity data across central Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica, acquired during the austral summer of 2009/2010 and within the project 'West-East Gondwana Amalgamation and its Separation' (WEGAS). The data span the offshore Astrid Ridge, and parts of the Nivl and Lazarev ice shelves. The survey was conducted using a ZLS Ultrasys Lacoste & Romberg Air/Sea gravimeter S56 installed into - and operated with - the research aircraft Polar 5. Base readings were performed with a handheld gravity meter at the base station Novolazarevskaja and in Cape Town. A ground speed of 130 knots and a time-domain filter of 220 s leads to a spatial resolution of around 7 km. The average crossover error after bias adjustment is 4.2 mGal.     Description: Attached data comprise a bathymetric model of central Dronning Maud Land, including the seabed beneath the Nivl Ice Shelf and the Lazarev Ice Shelf, as well as the offshore Astrid Ridge and adjacent parts of the Riiser-Larsen Sea. Here, this model is embedded within the larger Antarctic-wide bathymetric compilation IBCSOV2 (Dorschel et al., 2022). This is an addition to the stand-alone bathymetric model here: https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.961492. The embedded model gives seabed depths relative to WGS84 at a resolution of 2.5 km. It is generated by complementing existing topographic data sets - such as seismic data, ice penetrating radar data, and shipborne hydroacoustic data - with the inversion of airborne gravity data towards bathymetry. The airborne gravity data used for the inversion consist of data acquired during aerogeophysical campaigns VISA from the early 2000s and WEGAS from the austral summer of 2009/2010.     Description: These datasets originate from the gravity core MSM12/2-05-01 (57.538500, -48.738700, recovery 1494 cm, 3492 m water depth) taken during R/V Maria S. Merian cruise MSM12/2 in 2009 in the eastern Labrador Sea (Eirik Drift). These datasets show the history of sea surface characteristics in the Labrador Sea and the surrounding ice sheet activities, representing the last 50 ka. The XRF, biomarker, and planktic/benthic foraminifer data document the outstanding collapse of the Laurentide Ice Sheet/iceberg discharge during Heinrich Events (i.e., HE5, HE4, HE2, and HE1) and the occurrence of meltwater plumes from the Greenland Ice Sheet and/or Laurentide Ice Sheet during the last deglaciation. Such meltwater discharges have caused surface freshening in the Labrador Sea and, consequently, decreased sea surface temperatures and phytoplankton production. Enhanced Irminger Current inflow might have caused (sub-)surface warming in the Labrador Sea and triggered the retreat of ice sheets/meltwater discharge. In contrast to relatively low open-water productivity during the glacial period, the Last Glacial Maximum was characterized by increased sea ice algae and phytoplankton production, suggesting the presence of a polynya in front of the southern Greenland Ice Sheet.

    Description: The Global Coastal Permeability Database (CoPerm) contains both the input and output data of the Global Coastal Permeability Model developed by Tschaikowski (2024, doi:10.5281/zenodo.10438737). The model assigns the coastal permeability for each shoreline segment of the global shoreline vector created by Roger Sayre (2023, doi:10.5066/P91ZCSGM) with a 30-meter resolution and covering a spatial extent of 180.0°W to 180.0°E longitude and 60.8°S to 83.7°N latitude. The coastline is separated into three sections (A: coastal aquifer, B: immediate shoreline, C: shallow seafloor); permeability values and ranges are provided for each section. Permeability values were derived by categorizing each shoreline segment into a permeability class and assigning corresponding values and ranges based on input parameters and decision trees (Moosdorf et al., submitted). The input parameters were obtained from 14 global datasets, which were merged in GIS as features to each shoreline segment. The merging techniques are described in detail in the provided technical appendix.

Two sensors, solar irradiance and upward reflected solar irradiance, were mounted on a on a platform about 1 m above the sea ice surface. The third sensor was mounted 0.5 m underneath the sea ice measuring the downward transmitted irradiance. Along with the radiation measurements, this autonomous platform consisted of a 5 m long thermistor chain with sensor spacing of 0.02 m and several other sensor packages, which measured water temperature, pressure and conductivity at hourly intervals. Ecology sensors measured backscatter strength, chlorophyll a and fluorescence of dissolved organic matter at hourly intervals. Oxygen sensors measured relative oxygen air saturation, and water temperature at hourly intervals. In addition, relative snow height was measured at hourly intervals. All times are given in UTC.

    Description: Solar radiation over and under sea ice was measured by radiation station 2019R8, an autonomous platform, installed on drifting First-Year-Ice (FYI) in the Arctic Ocean during MOSAiC (Leg 1) 2019/20. The resulting time series describes radiation measurements as a function of place and time between 05 October 2019 and 31 July 2020 in sample intervals of 3 hours. The radiation measurements have been performed with spectral radiometers. All data are given in full spectral resolution interpolated to 1.0 nm, and integrated over the entire wavelength range (broadband, total: 320 to 950 nm).     Description: Solar radiation over and under sea ice was measured by radiation station 2019R8, an autonomous platform, installed on drifting First-Year-Ice (FYI) in the Arctic Ocean during MOSAiC (Leg 1) 2019/20. The resulting time series describes radiation measurements as a function of place and time between 05 October 2019 and 31 July 2020 in sample intervals of 3 hours. The radiation measurements have been performed with spectral radiometers. All data are given in full spectral resolution interpolated to 1.0 nm, and integrated over the entire wavelength range (broadband, total: 320 to 950 nm). Two sensors, solar irradiance and upward reflected solar irradiance, were mounted on a on a platform about 1 m above the sea ice surface. The third sensor was mounted 0.5 m underneath the sea ice measuring the downward transmitted irradiance. Along with the radiation measurements, this autonomous platform consisted of a 5 m long thermistor chain with sensor spacing of 0.02 m and several other sensor packages, which measured water temperature, pressure and conductivity at hourly intervals. Ecology sensors measured backscatter strength, chlorophyll a and fluorescence of dissolved organic matter at hourly intervals. Oxygen sensors measured relative oxygen air saturation, and water temperature at hourly intervals. In addition, relative snow height was measured at hourly intervals. All times are given in UTC.

    Description: Surveys of seagrass associated fisheries were conducted as part of a large-scale seagrass ecosystem services assessment conducted across five countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Timor-Leste under the International Climate Initiative (IKI): Seagrass Ecosystem Services Project (https://www.dugongseagrass.org/projects/seagrass-ecosystem-services-project/). To survey seagrass-associated biodiversity, data collectors used Baited Remote Underwater Video systems (BRUVS) and footage was analysed by an observer, trained in fish identification, for relative abundance (MaxN) and species richness between July 2022 – June 2023. A total of 325 hours were collected from seagrass meadows across the Indo-Pacific, with depth ranges of 0.5 – 8.4 metres. Data points were selected by local NGO's and/or community members, and placed a minimum of 50m apart.

These data form the basis of high temporal resolution temperature and precipitation reconstructions for Roman times between about 200 BCE and 600 CE (ca. 205 BCE - 605 CE).
