    Description: This collection of thirteen essays examines sociolinguistic phenomena in a wide variety of marginal environments, providing both an overview of globalizaiton on the margins and a foundation for an expanded understanding of the processes of linguistic and cultural changes at work in these settings. Taking an expansive conceptual view of margins, the volume is organized in three parts, looking at examples of marginal spaces in the nation-state, in online environments, and in the peripheries of urban locations, globally to call attention to new and changing discursive genres, patterns, practices, and identities emerging in these spaces as a result of contemporary mobilities, the evolving global economy, and socio-political changes. With previous research previously confined to the study of globalization in urban areas, this volume opens the door for further research on the complex sociolinguistic processes resulting from globalization on the margins, making this an ideal resource for students and scholars in sociolinguistics, globalization and heritage studies, new media, anthropology, and cultural studies.     Description: In a global context in which phenomena of migration play an ever more important role, the ways individual and collective experiences of migration are covered in the media, represented in culture, and interpreted are coming under increasing scrutiny. This book explores the complex relationship between creative engagements with migration on the one hand, and forms of knowledge about migration on the other, inquiring into the ways aesthetic practices are intertwined with knowledge structures. The book responds to three pressing research questions. First, it analyses how fictional texts, plays, images, films, and autobiographical accounts mediate forms of knowledge about migration. Second, it identifies the ways in which specific media approaches and aesthetic practices influence people’s ideas about and awareness of migratory experiences in a globalized world. Finally, it delineates how historical perspectives help us compare epistemological approaches to migration in the nineteenth, twentieth, and early twenty-first centuries, and how these approaches affect the way critics and the public responded to and thought about different forms of (forced) migration.     Description: La poésie de Pétrarque et le pétrarquisme qui en est dérivé constituent une matière inestimable et un champ fertile pour comprendre les sources des identités et des cultures européennes. Il est donc crucial d’examiner les études pétrarquiennes au regard de nouvelles notions critiques telles que la transculturalité ou la transnationalité. L’exemple emblématique français constitue un champ d’enquête privilégié pour décrire ce que l’auteur définit comme le « mouvement migrant » du pétrarquisme européen.     Description: This book uses sustainability to explore the interfaces between translation studies, the cultural history of knowledge, and Science and Technology studies (STS). The volume examines various material, cultural and epistemic translation practices where sustainability serves as a boundary object between natural and cultural inquiry. By turning to the intellectual traditions that influenced but were left behind by STS and actor-network theory (ANT), we aim to challenge and expand the Sociology of Translation developed in ANT. Concepts such as ‘inscription’ (Derrida), ‘actant’, ‘narrative’ (Greimas), and ‘world/worlding’ (Heidegger, Spivak) were reemployed – translated – in the canonical STS-texts. What networks of meaning were left behind in this reemployment? The book showcases a combination of cultural and knowledge historical perspectives on the construction of the Sociology of Translation and practical experiments across the registers of nature and culture is novel. There have been brilliant individual attempts to realign the Sociology of Translation with narratives and modes of enunciation, but none has related the Sociology of Translation to the networks and traditions which enabled it but to which it erased its relations and debts. This innovative work will appeal to scholars in translation studies, cultural studies, environmental humanities, medical humanities, and Science and Technology studies. Zugleich nimmt die Studie diejenigen Familien in den Blick, bei denen das Familienmitglied mit Behinderung von zu Hause ausgezogen ist. Welche Beweggründe führen zum Auszug und wie erleben die Familien den Übergang in eine betreute Wohnform?     Description: Feedback from teachers is of great importance for the learning development of pupils. For optimal support of learning processes, it is important how students perceive and utilise feedback. Based on theoretical supply-utilisation models, this book addresses the question of the extent to which students in upper secondary school perceive feedback from teachers in German lessons differently and how this perception affects students' motivation development. The findings from latent change models provide information on the stability and change in feedback perception over the course of a school term as well as on differences in feedback perception between students. In addition, the longitudinal analyses highlight the interplay between different dimensions of feedback quality and the development of learning motivation. The findings expand the state of research on the perception of feedback and the development of differentiated effects on motivation and also open up a wide range of suggestions for educational practice.

    Description: Collective monograph contains the results of scientific research devoted to some problems of continuous education. The proposed models and methods make it possible to form new views and proposals that can contribute to increasing the efficiency of the educational process. Chapter 1 highlights the results of a pedagogical experiment on the formation of organizational competence among future specialists in physical culture and sports of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The dynamics of the formation of organizational competence is determined and it is shown that the application of the obtained results makes it possible to find out the formation of value-motivational, knowledge, managerial, managerial, control-corrective and reflective-evaluative components of organizational competence of cadets. The features of trends in adult education at the global and local levels are clarified, and the author's interactive intensive course is offered. Chapter 3 presents the development of innovative models of effectiveness for communication in a foreign language with an emphasis on lifelong learning and multiculturalism. Integration of "inverted classroom" models, models based on tasks of immersion in the concept of technology application for improving language learning is proposed. It is shown that the introduction of technologies in language learning can improve access to resources and increase the effectiveness of education. Chapter 4 is devoted to the management of professional development of professional staff of Ukrainian universities in the context of the expansion of institutional autonomy. The obtained results can be considered as part of the integration processes of higher education of Ukraine in the European educational space In Chapter 5, the means of developing individual and group receptivity to the new are disclosed. It is shown that corporate training through active methods, modern management models and technologies, coaching training technologies acquires special importance. The monograph is intended for educators, theoreticians and practitioners who study the problems of the continuous educational process in order to increase its effectiveness.

La población y muestra del estudio, compuesta por estudiantes de práctica del IX y X semestre, añade relevancia a los hallazgos, proporcionando una visión específica del entorno universitario. La investigación utiliza dos técnicas de recolección de datos: encuestas y evaluaciones. Los instrumentos, un cuestionario para la variable de redes sociales y un examen para la variable de ortografía, ofrecen una comprensión integral de la relación entre estas dos dimensiones. El uso del software estadístico SPSS y la prueba de hipótesis mediante el coeficiente de Spearman añaden robustez a los resultados presentados. Los resultados revelan una correlación negativa entre el uso de redes sociales y las habilidades ortográficas, desafiando preconcepciones comunes sobre la influencia positiva de la comunicación digital en la escritura. Sin embargo, el libro va más allá de esta correlación general, explorando las dimensiones específicas de la ortografía y revelando matices en la relación. La prosa clara y accesible facilita la comprensión de los hallazgos, haciendo que la obra sea accesible tanto para académicos como para lectores interesados en la evolución de la comunicación en la era digital.     Description: La educación básica regular se encuentra en una encrucijada de retos y problemas que van más allá de límites y disciplinas. Este libro, titulado Carolinos en Acción, se presenta como resultado de la aplicación de una estrategia didáctica y metodológica que brinda y propone una transformación en las prácticas pedagógicas a partir de la investigación escolar como herramienta pedagógica, que busca el desarrollo de un pensamiento crítico en los estudiantes carolinos, también fortalece las competencias científicas y la formación de un ciudadano de bien. La investigación escolar tiene gran trascendencia y existen precedentes de su amplio recorrido. Sin embargo, parece ser relegado, mal interpretada o no ser considerada adecuadamente en el marco de la práctica docente en la educación básica, y se limita a trasladar la tarea a escenarios futuros del estudiante como el nivel universitario o de educación superior donde es llevada a cabo por expertos en temas específicos. Lo contrario invitaría a la desmitificación de ciertos paradigmas de la investigación escolar, en los que se brinde apoyo al estudiante como agente de generación de conocimiento, se aleje al estudiante de la formación principalmente in situ, se dinamice la formación en investigación a través de la práctica, y se permite al docente reflexionar y cuestionar la información revisada, y aprender a problematizar los elementos que están en su entorno. La IEI Glorioso San Carlos busca facilitar espacios de encuentro y debate de opiniones entre docentes y estudiantes como fuente de investigación, privilegiando la iniciativa y la creatividad del estudiante y su lugar expectante entre la enseñanza y la investigación, considerando como objetivo de la investigación el hacer y producir. Cada uno de los ensayos de este resumen aborda un tema que fue elegido libremente por cada participante quienes fueron fortalecidos en la competencia escribe diversos tipos de textos y en el uso de herramientas de investigación como: uso adecuado del Word, uso del aplicativo Mendeley, búsqueda de información (bases de datos), citas y referencias en APA7, entre otros. Para la concreción de la presente publicación se implementó el proyecto de innovación “Aprendo a investigar desde mi colegio” aprobado mediante RD N° 242-2023-DREP-UGELP-DGCNSC, dirigido principalmente a estudiantes del tercer, cuarto y quinto grado de educación secundaria, considerando la investigación en la escuela como un reto para la comunidad educativa, de cara al bicentenario y como parte del Eje 3 Investigación e Innovación del Plan Bicentenario de la Institución Educativa Integrada Glorioso Colegio Nacional de San Carlos – Puno, que será un hito en el panorama educativo de la comunidad educativa que responda a la visión de la IEI. Se espera que este resumen no solo alimente la discusión académica, sino que también fomente la acción necesaria para abordar los desafíos importantes que marcarán el futuro de la educación básica y posicione a la IEI Glorioso Colegio Nacional San Carlos como promotor de la investigación escolar.

    Description: Poet-Monks focuses on the literary and religious practices of Buddhist poet-monks in Tang-dynasty China to propose an alternative historical arc of medieval Chinese poetry. Combining large-scale quantitative analysis with close readings of important literary texts, Thomas J. Mazanec describes how Buddhist poet-monks, who first appeared in the latter half of Tang-dynasty China, asserted a bold new vision of poetry that proclaimed the union of classical verse with Buddhist practices of repetition, incantation, and meditation. Mazanec traces the historical development of the poet-monk as a distinct actor in the Chinese literary world, arguing for the importance of religious practice in medieval literature. As they witnessed the collapse of the world around them, these monks wove together the frayed threads of their traditions to establish an elite-style Chinese Buddhist poetry. Poet-Monks shows that during the transformative period of the Tang-Song transition, Buddhist monks were at the forefront of poetic innovation.

    Description: In diesem Open-Access-Buch wird ausgehend vom aktuellen Forschungsdiskurs der didaktische Einsatz von Erklärvideos im Sachunterricht untersucht. Der Sachunterricht stellt aufgrund seines umfassenden Bildungsauftrags ein herausforderndes Betätigungsfeld für Lehrkräfte dar. Das audiovisuelle Medienformat Erklärvideo kommt dabei zunehmend zur Anwendung. Anhand einer explorativen qualitativ-empirischen Studie mit österreichischen und deutschen Grundschullehrkräften wird ein Rahmenmodell zum Erklärvideoeinsatz im Sachunterricht entwickelt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass sowohl die Schulschließungen im Zuge der Coronapandemie als auch der individuelle Umgang mit dem Bildungsauftrag des Sachunterrichts Motive für den Einsatz von Erklärvideos darstellen. Es werden Vorgehensweisen bei der Auswahl bzw. Gestaltung von Erklärvideos sowie didaktische Zielsetzungen und situationsspezifische Umgangsformen mit dem Medium identifiziert. Einflussfaktoren für die Nutzung von Erklärvideos sind die Verfügbarkeit passender Angebote, die technische Ausstattung sowie personenbezogene Faktoren wie persönliches Interesse und Medienkompetenz. Qualitätsvolle Erklärvideos im Sachunterricht können bei zweckmäßigem Einsatz als geeignete Bildungsressourcen für die Lernenden und als didaktisches Werkzeug für die Lehrenden betrachtet werden.

A system of principles for the creation of educational programs for language training of educational migrants has been developed, their functions, components of competences of foreign students of higher education in accordance with the tasks of language acquisition have been determined, teaching methods, evaluation criteria and means of control have been characterized. Methodological studies on the development of all types of speech activity of foreign students using multimedia technologies, modern social network content are presented. Modern approaches to inclusive education as a means of promoting social equality of students with special needs, development of their socialization skills and adaptation to learning conditions, formation of an individual educational trajectory, and employment are analyzed. The role of social networks in the lives of students and their impact on the pedagogical process was studied, various aspects of students' interaction with social networks were clarified. The essence, features and functional role of communication in modern society in the context of the development of inclusion, inclusive society and environment, intercultural communication and multiculturalism are studied. In order to improve the quality of the formation of professional competence among Chinese students during their studies at Ukrainian higher education institutions, the influence of the native language and the peculiarities of the linguistic picture of the world was investigated. The proposed theoretical, methodological and applied issues of student training in higher education are of theoretical and practical interest for scientists, practicing teachers and state administration bodies.

    Description: The reception of Seneca’s Tragedies had a crucial moment during the 14th and early 15th centuries. In this period, after their recent rediscovery but before the extraordinary circulation across Europe in the Renaissance, Seneca’s plays attracted the attention of scholars and poets, and also of some exegetes who taught in Italian universities and schools. These cultural places represented a formidable medium for the dissemination of the Tragedies and the exegetical materials produced around them. In particular, an important role was played by Petrarch and Boccaccio, who read Tragedies and evoked them in their works, but also by some exegetes-professors such as Giovanni del Virgilio, Pietro da Moglio, Domenico Bandini, Bartolomeo del Regno and Petrus Parmensis, who focused their commentaries and lectures on Seneca’s plays. So, at first, this volume recalls the narrow spread of Seneca’s Tragedies up to Early Middle Ages, and examines their rediscovery, that was realized by Nicolaus Trevet and Paduan prehuminists Lovato de’ Lovati and Albertino Mussato, but which took place also in Tuscany and Bologna. Then, the book analyses the philological and interpretative reception of the Tragedies by Petrarch and Boccaccio, and the allusions to Seneca’s plays in the Expositio on Ovid’s Metamorphoses by Bolognese professor Giovanni del Virgilio, who may have influenced Petrarch. Furthermore, great attention is paid to the exegetic activity of Pietro da Moglio, professor in Bologna and Padua and author of poetic summaries of the Tragedies that were very popular. In detail, the volume contains a new edition of these text, which updates Giuseppe Billanovich’s edition on the basis of many recently rediscovered manuscripts. Then, the book explores the interest in Tragedies shown by Domenico Bandini, teacher in Bologna and Tuscany and close friend of Coluccio Salutati. A pupil of the latter, Lorenzo Ridolfi, in his youth wrote – almost certainly on Salutati’s advice – a proem and some original summaries of the Tragedies, an edition of which is offered in this volume for the first time. New investigations are also focused on the exegetical activity of Bartolomeo del Regno, student of Pietro da Moglio and professor in Bologna, and on an important manuscript of the Tragedies linked to him. Good attention is also given to the original glosses on the Tragedies written by Petrus Parmensis in a manuscript adorned with elegant miniatures, that show special features compared to the illustrations in other codices and textual commentaries composed by Trevet and Mussato. This continuous exegesis, multifaceted and also open to dialogue with the art of illumination, represented an indispensable point of reference for the pupils of such professors, including Coluccio Salutati, Francesco da Fiano and Francesco Piendibeni da Montepulciano, who were students of Pietro da Moglio before becoming humanists. After all, the book underlines that Francesco da Fiano and Francesco Piendibeni knew Seneca’s dramas, but also analyses the manuscript of Tragedies copied and annotated by Coluccio Salutati and lists all quotations from this plays in his Epistolary and De laboribus Herculis.     Description: Creativity has become a buzzword across all disciplines in education and across all phases, from early years through to tertiary education. Although the meaning of creativity can change vastly depending on the global educational setting, it is impossible to ignore the applicability and relevance of creativity as an educational tool, philosophical framework and pedagogical approach. Through case studies of creativity in varying settings and diverse contexts, this collection explores the ground-breaking work undertaken internationally to support, develop and future-proof learners with, and for, creativity. The chapters are centred around a practice based enquiry or other forms of empirical research. This provides the scholarly basis upon which creativity is continuously reconceptualised and redefined in the educational and country-specific context of each study. Im Rückgriff auf dessen vieldiskutierte Studie kann sie sich als Disziplin profilieren, die mit der Reflexion ebenjener Einrichtungen betraut ist, die dafür sorgen, dass aus vernunftbegabten Zweibeinern passable Diskursteilnehmer*innen werden. Gleichwohl ist die hohe Wertschätzung, die der Bildung in diesem Zusammenhang entgegengebracht wird, nicht unproblematisch. Die politische Kultur könnte, so ein Verdacht, von der fortschreitenden Akademisierung öffentlicher Debatten beschädigt werden. Demokratien gerieten in ein gefährliches Fahrwasser, wenn sie die Bedingungen zur Teilnahme am politischen Diskurs immer anspruchsvoller gestalten. Die Arenen öffentlicher Auseinandersetzungen werden daher nicht nur von jenen bedroht, die eine Politik des Ressentiments betreiben und autoritären Ordnungen das Wort reden, sondern auch von Angehörigen des Bildungsbürgertums, welche die eigenen Argumentationsstile, Überzeugungen und medialen Vorlieben generalisieren und einen Cordon sanitaire um solche Positionen errichten, die ihnen als nicht »diskussionswürdig« gelten.

    Description: Since 1980, when neoliberal and neoconservative forces began their hostile takeover of western culture, a new type of political satire has emerged that works to unmask and deter those toxic doctrines. Literary and cultural critic Kirk Combe calls this new form of satire the Rant. The Rant is grim, highly imaginative, and complex in its blending of genres. It mixes facets of satire, science fiction, and monster tale to produce widely consumed spectacles—major studio movies, popular television/streaming series, bestselling novels—designed to disturb and to provoke. The Rant targets what Combe calls the Regime. Simply put, the Regime is the sum of the dangerous social, economic, and political orthodoxies spurred on by neoliberal and neoconservative polity. Such practices include free-market capitalism, corporatism, militarism, religiosity, imperialism, racism, patriarchy, and so on. In the Rant, then, we have a unique and wholly contemporary genre of political expression and protest: speculative satire.

In the most general form, the material is presented regarding the strategic guidelines for the quality of education in the WHE with special learning conditions in the context of Ukraine's integration into the European educational space. Philosophical and methodological approaches to solving existing disagreements in the field of human measurement of the quality of police education in Ukraine and abroad are studied in integral connection with the corresponding concepts of human development; leadership theories; the genesis of personnel work on professional training and evaluation of the activities of police officers in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Features of the human-measurement training of officers of the National Police of Ukraine are explained on the basis of the provisions of the modern post-non-classical methodology of science, a general scientific holistic approach, humanistic pedagogy, as well as the methodological foundations for the implementation of international standards of ethical behavior in the activities of police officers, which is an objective need of the current Ukrainian education system in general and in particular, a prerequisite for the prevention of corruption offenses, the vitality of virtue in society. The productivity of reflexive practices of self-organization of the personality of future police officers is substantiated as a condition for the development of psychological resilience. The book proves the necessity and prospects of research and implementation in the theory and practice of police education of the concept of Ukrainian general scientific methodology regarding the unity of the formation and development of a Human on the basis of the cognitive-emotional-volitional triad of components of the value experience of the individual. Based on the real originality of the formation of the value experience of a police officer in the process of professional training, constructive practice, the general theoretical and methodological origins and meaningful lines of practical improvement and further personal and professional growth of a police officer in their official activities as mechanisms for protecting human rights and freedoms in the activities of law enforcement officers are identified. The novelty of the approaches is associated with the use of the key foundations of psycho-pedagogical support and the development of pedagogical skills of HEI teachers with special learning conditions, the activities of mentors to harmonize the professional training of the applicant's personality in the system of departmental education, the use of a criteria approach for assessing learning outcomes, the design features of police work programs in the context of the scale of human-dimensional meanings evaluating the quality of higher education The constructiveness of this perspective is distinguished, first of all, by a holistic combination and use as the latest achievements of the psychological, pedagogical, legal, neurophysiological branches of scientific knowledge to explain the newly formed pedagogical phenomena of the modern educational sphere in the aspect of innovativeness of markers for assessing the quality of educational and research activities education; and the understanding that universal human and nation-creating value orientations as a special social basis of the culturological worldview should be extrapolated into the global function of modern education, which should determine and realize its social power that characterizes civilizational development in different historical epochs. In this context, the issues of introducing the axiological essence, designing, implementing and evaluating the relevant educational programs for training officers of the National Police are specified.     Description: Ein interdisziplinärer Band im Open-Access: Die Aufwertung der Volkssprachen in der Frühen Neuzeit führte zu einer Intensivierung und internationalen Öffnung der europäischen Übersetzungskultur. Der Gebrauch des Englischen bleibt in dieser Zeit allerdings weitgehend auf die Insel beschränkt, während die Sprache auf dem Kontinent noch wenig geläufig ist. Erst seit dem 18. Jahrhundert gewinnt sie an internationaler Bedeutung und steigt schließlich zur modernen Weltsprache auf. Der Band fokussiert auf die vormoderne Situation und untersucht in 19 literatur-, kunst-, philosophie- und frömmigkeitsgeschichtlichen Fallstudien die deutsche Rezeption der frühneuzeitlichen englischen Literatur und Kultur. Mit Blick auf das bislang unzureichend erforschte deutsch-englische Interaktionsfeld erhellt er ebenso ausgewählte Personen, Institutionen und Wissensfelder wie Werkübertragungen, Gattungstransformationen und Übersetzungspraktiken, die den bereits in dieser Zeit bemerkenswert dichten Austausch zwischen England und dem Alten Reich prägten. Each of these narratives was marketed in numerous European languages and circulated throughout several centuries. Combining literary studies and book history, this work offers for the first time a transnational perspective on a selected text corpus of this genre. It explores the spatio-temporal transmission of the texts in different languages and the materiality of the editions: the narratives were bought, sold, read, translated and adapted across European borders, from the south of Spain to Iceland and from Great Britain to Poland. Thus, the study analyses the multi-faceted processes of cultural circulation, translation and adaptation of the texts. In their diverse forms of mediality such as romance, drama, ballad and penny prints, they also make a significant contribution to a European identity in the early modern period.     Description: Nyskaping er eit omgrep vi møter i mange samanhengar, og det er gjerne tett kopla til omgrepet innovasjon. Oftast er nyskaping omtalt i positive lada ordelag og som noko vi ønskjer å få til meir av. Men kva inneber nyskaping? Antologien løfter opp nokre spørsmål som er med å tydeleggjere kva nyskaping er. Kva skil nyskaping frå innovasjon? Kva er tilsikta og utilsikta konsekvensar av nyskapingsprosessar? Og kva skal til for å lukkast?. Krav til nyskaping kjem også til UH-sektoren, og dei ulike bidraga i antologien drøftar kva rolle UH-sektoren kan ha i nyskapinga. Nokre av kapitla tar fatt på denne debatten på eit prinsipielt nivå, gjennom å diskutere det opp mot UH-sektoren si rolle og mandatet til institusjonar innan høgare utdanning og forsking. Andre kapittel, med empiri i all hovudsak forankra i «fjordregionen», gjev viktige praktiske døme på korleis slike nyskapingsprosessar utfoldar seg i praksis. Fleire av kapitla diskuterer i større grad nyskapingar – altså produktet snarare enn prosessen. Diskusjonane frå kapitla i denne antologien syner at omgrepet nyskaping er mangfaldig. Eit viktig funn er at nyskapingsomgrepet ser ut til å representere noko anna og lettare handgripeleg for mange av aktørane enn det meir etablerte innovasjonsomgrepet. Det mogleggjer nye former for samhandling og innsikt som også er relevant langt utover regionen døma tek utgangspunkt i.

    Description: In exploring the seminal works of Walt Whitman, the great American poet, many commentators have acknowledged the underlying influence of The King James Bible. However, a study has yet to elucidate the precise manner in which the Bible has shaped Whitman’s poetic style. This is the deficit that F. W. Dobbs-Allsopp seeks to address in his new piece of literary scholarship: 'Divine Style: Walt Whitman and the King James Bible'. Dobbs-Allsopp, Professor of Old Testament at Princeton Theological Seminary, explicitly approaches Whitman from the perspective of a biblical scholar. Utilising his wealth of expertise in this field, he constructs a compelling, erudite and methodical argument for the King James Bible’s importance in the evolution of Whitman’s style – from his signature long lines to the prevalence of parallelism and tendency towards parataxis in his works.     Description: This book is an ethnographic account of education and migration from the perspective of three groups of South Koreans in contemporary China: migrant parents, children/students, and educational agents. The book reveals how these temporary migrants make choices, plan their trajectories and engage with the authorities, both in China and South Korea. Migrant subjectivities among these groups are driven by and respond to the education-migration regimes of both the sending and receiving countries. As ‘people in between’, they occupy flexible and multiple positionalities that are transnationally distributed. However, paradoxically, they experience a juxtaposition of privilege, integration and separation, which is indicative of the Chinese style of internationalisation. The book adds weight to the argument that China is a temporary destination for foreigners and not one for long-term settlement.

    Description: From Shakespeare to Autofiction focuses on salient features of authorship throughout modernity, ranging from transformations of oral tradition and the roles of empirical authors, through collaborative authorship and authorship as ‘cultural capital’, to the shifting roles of authors in recent autofiction and biofiction. In response to Roland Barthes’ ‘removal of the Author’ and its substitution by Michel Foucault’s ‘author function’, different historical forms of modern authorship are approached as ‘multiplicities’ integrated by agency, performativity and intensity in the theories of Pierre Bourdieu, Wolfgang Iser, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. The book also reassesses recent debates of authorship in European and Latin American literatures. It demonstrates that the outcomes of these debates need wider theoretical and methodological reflection that takes into account the historical development of authorship and changing understandings of fiction, performativity and new media. Individual chapters trace significant moments in the history of authorship from the early modernity to the present (from Shakespeare’s First Folio to Latin American experimental autofiction), and discuss the methodologies reinstating the author and authorship as the irreducible aspects of literary process.     Description: Since 1980, when neoliberal and neoconservative forces began their hostile takeover of western culture, a new type of political satire has emerged that works to unmask and deter those toxic doctrines. Literary and cultural critic Kirk Combe calls this new form of satire the Rant. The Rant is grim, highly imaginative, and complex in its blending of genres. It mixes facets of satire, science fiction, and monster tale to produce widely consumed spectacles—major studio movies, popular television/streaming series, bestselling novels—designed to disturb and to provoke. The Rant targets what Combe calls the Regime. Simply put, the Regime is the sum of the dangerous social, economic, and political orthodoxies spurred on by neoliberal and neoconservative polity. Such practices include free-market capitalism, corporatism, militarism, religiosity, imperialism, racism, patriarchy, and so on. In the Rant, then, we have a unique and wholly contemporary genre of political expression and protest: speculative satire.

    Description: What relations (of difference) between students develop in such practices of ‘Planarbeit’ in individualized secondary school teaching in which students relate to instructional tasks and to each other? In this study, a (video-)ethnographic approach is chosen to explore the contribution of students to the formation of social order in the classroom. The findings show that the ‘Selbstständigkeit’ (independence) of students in individualized plan-teaching, which relies on students not only showing themselves responsible for their own progression, but also as ‘mit-zuständig’ (co-responsible) for the progression of the work processes of their classmates, is relational: The continuation, the resuming and the appropriateness of individual progressions is socially accounted for and practiced in task-related references between students – which is associated not only with specific practices, but also with relations of difference between those involved.

    Description: “The Curriculum of Everything advances as the eternal future in which artificial intelligence surpasses the human capacity to do but not that of understanding and feeling.” Now even the “father” of Artificial Intelligence worries even those bedrocks of being – understanding and feeling - may be at risk. Pacheco reminds us that “curriculum study is a normative question,” now necessarily “with its technological dimension.” Then in a stunningly synoptic sentence that students could usefully study all semester, he summarizes: “the curriculum as a socially, culturally, ideologically, politically and economically constructed practice, is a formal and informal dispositive of interwoven relationships between knowledge, power, and technology.” (…) Penetrated, we become impregnated with the structures of software, as Pacheco appreciates: “Technological devices are powerful instruments of subjectivity production, moving the subject into predefined ways of knowing (…) Old-fashioned rhetoric alright, but insightfully implying we need to return to the past, when were still – sort of – human, before we were seduced by supranational “citizenship” in the software state, before we became submerged in the “curriculum of everything.” Step back from the brink.     Description: Skjønnlitteraturens ungdommer er saftrike slyngelalderskikkelser. Slyngelalderen er en rampete, utforskende og uforutsigbar livsfase. Den skjønnlitterære ungdommen er, som ungdom ellers, i en prosess der de både skal finne ut av seg selv og kaste seg ut i verden. Selv om dette gjør skjønnlitterær ungdom saft- og næringsrik for den litterære fortolkeren, har de sjeldent fanget litteraturforskerens interesse. Den ellers så omsvermede ungdommen har rett og slett vært oversett som litterært tema og motiv. I denne boken retter vi derfor blikket mot ungdom i skjønnlitteraturen. Hvilken plass og funksjon har ungdom i litteraturen? Artiklene i antologien viser at enkelte bruker litteraturen for å vise ungdom hva de bør være, mens andre er opptatt av å utvide forståelsen av ungdom gjennom skildringer av hva ungdom er. Artiklene belyser skjønnlitterær ungdom fra 1700-tallet fram til vår tid, og de tydeliggjør samlet sett at saftrik ungdom florerer i litteraturen, også der man trodde de kanskje ikke fantes. Ungdom bør følgelig betraktes som et sentralt og kraftfullt litterært motiv. Artiklene i antologien dekker et bredt spekter: Her undersøkes både kjente og ukjente og eldre så vel som nyere tekster. Nedslagene er hovedsakelig i skandinavisk litteratur, men linjene trekkes også mot Europa.     Description: This issue of Skriftkultur stems from our desire to honor our good colleague Geir Hjorthol with a festschrift on the occasion of his 70th birthday. As the recipient is a professor of literature and also interested in literary culture studies more generally, we have titled the issue Norwegian Nynorsk contemporary literature and written culture. Geir Hjorthol is himself responsible for the first article, in which he focuses on the role of music within Jon Fosses' novel, Septologien (2019–2022). This article became no less relevant when, a few weeks prior to completion of the issue, Fosse received the Nobel Prize in Literature 2023, the first Norwegian Nynorsk author in the prize’s history. In the second article, Jan Inge Sørbø questions whether reading literature may be stuck in a critical rut, where one is constantly occupied with revealing something hidden in the text. The four subsequent articles explore various recent Norwegian Nynorsk novels or authorships. In the first of these, Elin Stengrundet reflects on how Erlend Skjetne's young adult novel Eit anna blikk (2021) connects to modern migration literature and the Norwegian Nynorsk literary tradition, while Nora Simonhjell's article sheds new light on the inner coherence in the authorship of Olaug Nilssen. Marit Brekke and Wenke Mork Rogne present a post-humanistic reading of the Is-slottet (1963) by Tarjei Vesaas, while Beatrice G. Reed examines the precence of nature in Norwegian Nynorsk picture books for children in our time by taking a closer look at 13 prize-winning Norwegian Nynorsk picture books published up until the year 2000. Non-fiction and the topic of translation are covered by the next two articles. Brage Egil Herlofsen discusses the relationship between Norwegian Nynorsk literary culture and the essay genre, based on two books from the Norsk røyndom-series published by Samlaget (2018), while Marie Nedregotten Sørbø analyzes translations of Jane Austen from English to Norwegian nynorsk in light of literary cultural and hermeneutical perspectives. In the last article, Stian Hårstad shows how the language culture of our time places emphasis on increased pluralization, not least through the rise of digital technology, which facilitates new forms of interaction via writing, before discussing possible consequences this may have for written culture in general, and for studies of written cultures.

Sidan festskriftmottakaren er litteraturprofessor og dessutan er interessert i skriftkulturstudiar meir generelt, valde vi å gje festskriftet tittelen Nynorsk samtidslitteratur og skriftkultur. Geir Hjorthol står sjølv for den første artikkelen om Jon Fosses Septologien (2019–2022), og her rettar han søkjelyset mot forholdet til musikk i romanen. Denne artikkelen blei ikkje mindre aktuell då det nokre veker før festskriftet var ferdig, blei klart at Fosse fekk Nobelprisen i litteratur 2023, som den første nynorskforfattaren nokosinne. I den andre artikkelen stiller Jan Inge Sørbø spørsmål om lesing av litteratur kan ha køyrt seg fast i eit kritisk spor der ein heile tida er oppteken av å avsløre noko som er skjult i teksten. Deretter følgjer fire artiklar som tek føre seg ulike nyare nynorske romanar eller forfattarskapar. I den første av desse reflekterer Elin Stengrundet over korleis Erlend Skjetnes ungdomsroman Eit anna blikk (2021) knyter an til moderne migrasjonslitteratur og den nynorske litteraturtradisjonen, medan Nora Simonhjell sin artikkel kastar nytt lys over den indre samanhengen i forfattarskapen til Olaug Nilssen. Marit Brekke og Wenke Mork Rogne presenterer ei posthumanistisk lesing av Is-slottet (1963) av Tarjei Vesaas, medan Beatrice G. Reed undersøker graden av naturorientering i nynorske biletbøker for barn i vår tid ved å sjå nærare på 13 prislønte nynorske biletbøker utgjevne etter år 2000. Sakprosasjangeren og temaet nynorsk omsetjing blir dekt av dei to neste artiklane i festskriftet. Brage Egil Herlofsen drøftar forholdet mellom nynorsk skriftkultur og essaysjangeren med utgangspunkt i to bøker frå Norsk røyndom-serien til Samlaget (2018), medan Marie Nedregotten Sørbø analyserer omsetjingar av Jane Austen frå engelsk til norsk i lys av skriftkulturelle og hermeneutiske perspektiv. I den siste artikkelen viser Stian Hårstad korleis vår tids språkkultur legg vekt på auka pluralisering og folkeleggjering, ikkje minst gjennom framveksten av digital teknologi som legg til rette for nye former for skriftbasert samhandling, før han drøftar kva for konsekvensar dette kan ha for skriftlegheita og for skriftkulturforskinga.

    Description: This book deconstructs androcentric approaches to spacetimeinherited from western modernity through its theoretical frame of the chronotropics. It sheds light on the literary acts of archival disruption, radical remapping, and epistemic marronnage by twenty-first-century Caribbean women writers to restore a connection to spacetime, expanding it within and beyond the region. Arguing that the chronotropics points to a vocation for social justice and collective healing, this pan-Caribbean volume returns to autochthonous ontologies and epistemologies to propose a poetics and politics of the chronotropics that is anticolonial, gender inclusive, pluralistic, and non-anthropocentric. This is an open access book.

    Description: Este livro deriva do poema “Receita de ambrosia”, publicado no livro “Em sobressaltos: formação de professora”. Caracteriza-se como um segundo ato daquele, em duplo sentido: retoma o tema/problema por meio de desdobramento do segundo ato, “O ritual”, e dá continuidade a dois artigos em que tematizo a alfabetização/ensino de língua portuguesa como processo discursivo. O objetivo é problematizar a formação inicial de professores para a compreensão ativa do processo discursivo, considerando que, para ensiná-lo, não basta falar sobre. É necessário também mostrar fazendo nas relações de ensino-aprendizagem de que os futuros professores participam aqui e agora como alunos que se formam para o magistério. Inspiro-me na concepção de “peça didática”, de Bertolt Brecht, com finalidade de “educação estética-política”, por meio da encenação de um “modelo de ação”. A discussão do problema é mostrada em seis cenas que sintetizam momentos “cruciais” das atividades da disciplina Conteúdo, Metodologia e Prática de Ensino: Língua Portuguesa e Literatura Infantil, que ministro no curso de Pedagogia da Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências da Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), câmpus de Marília. O objetivo, entretanto, não é apresentar modelo a ser copiado ou prescrições a serem seguidas. Embora o termo “receita” (etimologicamente, “recebido”) remeta a discurso instrucional, indicando relação de ingredientes e modo de fazer, o modelo de/em ação aqui encenado se caracteriza como roteiro de uma antirreceita, de um antirritual. Porque igualmente afetada e modificada pela condição de participante-observadora do processo encenado, convido-os a compartilhar esta peça didática como materialização de antigo e ambicioso desejo: que também ela configure um processo discursivo a propiciar experiência formativa aos leitores/espectadores assim como sua elaboração proporcionou a esta pesquisadora-narradora-personagem.

    Description: Since 1980, when neoliberal and neoconservative forces began their hostile takeover of western culture, a new type of political satire has emerged that works to unmask and deter those toxic doctrines. Literary and cultural critic Kirk Combe calls this new form of satire the Rant. The Rant is grim, highly imaginative, and complex in its blending of genres. It mixes facets of satire, science fiction, and monster tale to produce widely consumed spectacles—major studio movies, popular television/streaming series, bestselling novels—designed to disturb and to provoke. The Rant targets what Combe calls the Regime. Simply put, the Regime is the sum of the dangerous social, economic, and political orthodoxies spurred on by neoliberal and neoconservative polity. Such practices include free-market capitalism, corporatism, militarism, religiosity, imperialism, racism, patriarchy, and so on. In the Rant, then, we have a unique and wholly contemporary genre of political expression and protest: speculative satire.

    Description: Roberto Arlt is considered one of the most important Argentine writers of the first half of the 20th century. Despite his fame as a novelist and author of etchings, his rich production of dramatic works remains little known and little performed on stage in Argentine and international theaters. With this volume we try to alleviate this partial oblivion through the critical edition of one of his most important theatrical pieces: Africa. The edition compares the text published so far with the typewritten version found in the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut in Berlin and which is part of the Arlt legacy of that institution. But the volume is more than a mere traditional critical edition, since, apart from the two versions, it includes a series of materials that facilitate the understanding of the text and the context through its paratexts. The importance of the piece within Arlt's theatrical production is perceived when considering the number of these paratexts, which include several stories, etchings and photographs that are based on the writer's trip to Europe and North Africa in 1935. All They indicate important changes in the perception of both Argentine society and foreign culture by Arlt himself, a perception that functions as a mirror to understand one's own.

The volume discusses performative and aesthetic forms of learning, arguing that learning, and the negotiation of meaning, is a multisensorial and multi-species processes. Many of the chapters are creative and artistic, and framed in a poetic language. The poems and images not only contribute to a pleasant reading experience, but they play essential roles in communicating how to craft relationships with nature through creative practices. The chapters explore the roles of nature, materiality, space, improvisation, playfulness, and artistic practices in research and teaching. They show a variety of co-crafting processes that emerge through more-than-human dialogues. The contributors of the book come from different research disciplines, from architecture, ecophilosophy, outdoor life studies, and craft education; to art, creative writing, poetry, and the performing arts. They all seek to overcome narrow anthropocentric approaches to the arts, arts education and education in general, and propose possible paths to a pedagogy of care and responsibility. They exemplify an eco(multi)centric approach to creative practices and invite readers to participate in a future of becoming together in a the more-than-human world.

Wer die Befunde und Erklärungen liest, dürfte sich am Ende wohl ebenfalls wundern, weshalb die Bildungsbeteiligten aller verfügbaren Empirie zum Trotz immer noch an ein einheitliches oder zumindest vergleichbares Bildungssystem glauben, das universell gültige Prädikate vergibt.
