    Description: Arundinella Raddi (Gramineae) is revised for Malesia. There are seven species. A survey of the complicated taxonomic and nomenclatural history of the genus is given. A new species for Taiwan is described and notes are provided on sundry other ones. There is a key to the Malesian and some non-Malesian species. Some species are aluminium accumulators.

    Description: In recent collections of herbaceous grasses from Thailand some novelties were detected: Eremo- chloa maxwellii Veldk. and Parahyparrhenia laegaardii Veldk. New records for Thailand are: Eragrostis tenuifolia (Hochst.) Steud., Eulalia tetraseta Ohwi, Germainia thorelii A. Camus, Sporobolus tenuissimus (Schrank) Kuntze. A second collection after the type was made of Germainia pilosa Chai-Anan.

    Description: Six new scrambling bamboo species of Melocalamus (Gramineae) are described: M. blaoensis, M. cucphuongensis, M. kbangensis, M. pacoensis, M. truongsonensis and M. yenbaiensis. The genus is new for Vietnam. Its diagnostic characters are scrambling stems and fleshy fruits.

    Description: A revision of Mnesithea (Gramineae \xe2\x80\x93 Rottboelliinae) in Malesia and Thailand showed that 11 species and 2 varieties occur. The suggestion that there would be a drought plant refuge in SE Borneo near Banjarmasin is supported.

    Description: A taxonomic revision is given of Hemarthria R.Br. (Gramineae-Andropogoneae-Rottboelliinae) occurring in the warm to tropical areas of the Old World (mainly in SE Asia), with one introduced in the New. Fourteen taxa are recognised, including a variety and a new species from Vietnam proposed here. A neotype for the lectotype species had to be designated.
