    Beschreibung: There is a lack of scientifically collected data on intimate partner violence against men in Germany. The authors present findings from a quantitative, representative online survey of 1,200 men aged 18-69 on the prevalence of partner violence, its consequences, men's experiences with the support system and individual risk factors, and a qualitative interview study with 16 men who were interviewed in detail about their experiences. Finally, the study reports the results of an expert workshop in the form of recommendations and a special analysis of the Lower Saxony survey on partner violence among 15-year-old male adolescents.

    Beschreibung: Zu Partnerschaftsgewalt gegen Männer in Deutschland liegen nur wenige wissenschaftlich ermittelte Daten vor. Die Autor:innen präsentieren Befunde einer quantitativen, deutschlandweit repräsentativen Online-Befragung von 1.200 Männern im Alter von 18 bis 69 Jahren zu Prävalenzen von Partnerschaftsgewalt und ihren Folgen. Vorgestellt werden darüber hinaus die Erfahrungen der Männer mit dem Hilfesystem und einzelnen Risikofaktoren sowie eine qualitative Interviewstudie, bei der 16 Männer detailliert zu ihren Erfahrungen befragt wurden. Abschließend präsentiert das Buch die Ergebnisse eines Expert:innen-Workshops in Form von Handlungsempfehlungen sowie eine Sonderauswertung des Niedersachsensurveys zu Partnerschaftsgewalt an 15-jähringen männlichen Jugendlichen.

    Beschreibung: Fritz Bauer ist als der Staatsanwalt in die Geschichte der Bundesrepublik eingegangen, der den Auschwitz- Prozess initiiert und in einer Vielzahl weiterer Fälle die Verfolgung von NS-Verbrechen in die Wege geleitet hat. In Büchern, Aufsätzen, Zeitungsartikeln, Interviews und Reden in Hörfunk und Fernsehen reflektierte er die gesellschaftliche und politische Lage der Bundesrepublik in der Nachkriegszeit. Daneben formulierte er ein kriminalpolitisches Programm, in dem er Ziel und Zweck des Strafrechts grundlegend infrage stellte. Bauer hat in diesen Schriften oft Positionen bezogen, die für seine Zeit ungewöhnlich waren; zugleich zeigen sie, wie eng er dem Denken seiner Zeit verbunden war. Sie gewähren Einsicht in Diskussionen der frühen Bundesrepublik und führen eindrucksvoll vor Augen, wie sich Bauer als Jurist, Remigrant, jüdischer Intellektueller und Sozialdemokrat einmischte und Gehör verschaffte. So eröffnen seine »Kleinen Schriften« aus heute meist unzugänglichen Zeitungen und Zeitschriften, den Blick auf die Brüche in Bauers Biografie, auf Exil und Remigration als Schlüsselerfahrungen. Fritz Bauer (1903–1968) war eine der bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten im Kampf für die juristische Ahndung der NS-Verbrechen in den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren in der Bundesrepublik. Von den Nationalsozialisten ins Exil getrieben, kehrte Bauer 1949 nach West-Deutschland zurück und setzte sich als hessischer Generalstaatsanwalt für die Demokratisierung des Landes ein. The study uses statistical data to discuss the development since the mid-19th century. The focus is on the historical energy turns triggered by coal, electricity supply, oil and natural gas and the associated processes of change. Another focus, also with topical relevance, is on the nearly one hundred years of experience in the hydrogen economy as the basis of the chemical industry.     Beschreibung: Trotz der Einstellung des Steinkohlenbergbaus 2018 besitzt das Ruhrgebiet weiterhin eine erhebliche Bedeutung für die deutsche Energieversorgung. Die Studie diskutiert anhand statistischer Daten die Entwicklung seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Im Vordergrund stehen die durch Kohle, Elektrizitätsversorgung, Erdöl und Erdgas ausgelösten historischen Energiewenden und die damit verbundenen Wandlungsprozesse. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt, ebenfalls mit aktuellem Bezug, auf den annähernd hundertjährigen Erfahrungen im Bereich der Wasserstoffwirtschaft als Grundlage der chemischen Industrie. Damit bietet es erstmals eine Synthese der vielfältigen energiewirtschaftlichen Beziehungen innerhalb der Region.

Der Autor zeigt die Interdependenzen zwischen Regierung, Zivilgesellschaft, Verbänden und Parlament auf und demonstriert anhand verschiedener Beispiele, dass die Exekutive kein abgehobenes Eigenleben führt. Ein zentrales Kapitel ist die Beschreibung des Innenlebens der Ministerialbürokratie. Gerade der Einblick in die täglichen Routinen im Umgang mit der Komplexität einzelner Inputs ist aufschlussreich für die Frage nach den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen politischer Gestaltung.

The study takes a close look at the social relationships among various groups of Chinese parents at a Chinese Mandarin language school in a metropolitan city in Germany. Taking an ethnographic approach, it captures a vivid picture of the parental social interactions in and outside the Chinese school setting. The study reveals the significance of social interactions, discussing it in relation to the parents’ socioeconomic backgrounds and individual migrant trajectories.
