    Description: La antología Pensamiento social español sobre América Latina tiene el objetivo de acercar al público la rica y diversa tradición de ideas, autores y escuelas españolas que han pensado América Latina y que han influido en el desarrollo de las ciencias sociales latinoamericanas como impactaron en los ámbitos académico, cultural y político de uno y otro lado del Atlántico. Pues el desarrollo de las ciencias sociales, tanto en España como en América Latina, ha seguido historias con bastantes entrecruzamientos. Si las circunstancias y la gestación de la propia idea de ciencias sociales y de "sociología latinoamericana" fueron fundadas como tal a mediados del siglo XX como un campo de investigación regional y como un proceso endógeno de producción de ideas, de categorías y de teorías, no solo tiene un valor anecdótico el señalar la participación de pensadores españoles en ese movimiento.

    Description: El objetivo principal de esta antología no es, desde luego, hacer el recuento integral de todo lo que se pensó y dijo en “Rusia" acerca de América Latina. Antes bien, de lo que se trata es de ofrecer elementos que puedan ayudar al lector a emprender rastreos más sistemáticos de las transformaciones en la percepción “rusa" acerca de América Latina a la luz de los cambios políticos en “Rusia", con un triple acento colocado en la latinoamericanística académica, en la dimensión histórica y en la geopolítica de las identidades. El entrecomillado utilizado para la palabra “Rusia" obedece a que, de modo similar a lo que ocurre con otras regiones, el uso de un topónimo específico implica ocluir los complejos procesos que van dando lugar a la conformación de una entidad histórico-cultural. “Rusia" en esta antología denota, en efecto, lo que fuera el Imperio Ruso antes de 1917, la Unión Soviética entre 1922 y 1991, y la Federación Rusa a partir de 1991.

O livro de Hélgio Trindade reconstrói partes significativas dessa história e constrói uma plataforma essencial e inevitável para continuar investigando as ciências sociais na América Latina e no Caribe. Está escrito por alguém que fez e fez parte desse proceso, tanto pela sua produção acadêmica quanto pela sua atuação em organizações acadêmicas nacionais e internacionais (CLACSO, AUGM, ANPOCS, IESALC/UNESCO, UNILA). Ou seja, por um protagonista de primeira linha. Tenho para mim que em um momento em que -desde a década de 1990- o pensamiento crítico latino-americano perdeu o vigor das décadas anteriores, o livro do Hélgio é uma contribuição formidável para a recuperação necessária.

Como en las otras ediciones, las Jornadas se organizaron en torno a una serie de ejes problemáticos que buscaron, por un lado, ser hospitalarios con las distinciones institucionalizadas entre las distintas áreas de producción de conocimiento en ciencias sociales, pero al mismo tiempo (por no tratarse de los lineamientos usuales utilizados en la mayoría de los Congresos) procuraron ampliar los horizontes de discusión permitidos por aquellas distinciones naturalizadas.

Esta distinción epistemológica entre la identidad de las ideas y la de las personas que las piensan nos es útil para introducir los escritos de este libro: autoras y autores que, pese a estar en Dinamarca, piensan de "forma latinoamericana sobre Latinoamérica". Como en el reflejo de un espejo, estas autoras y autores están situados en Europa, pero piensan en y con América Latina, un "pensamiento en diálogo con Latinoamérica. Los textos aquí reunidos no sólo desbordan estas categorías entre pensamiento puramente eurocéntrico o latinoamericano, también rebasan los límites impuestos por las disciplinas académicas las humanidades y las ciencias sociales.

    Description: Coeditado por PISAC. Este Manual es el resultado de una de las líneas de trabajo del Programa de Fortalecimiento de Publicaciones Periódicas de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas. La necesidad de contar con una obra de este tipo quedó en evidencia luego de analizar críticamente la situación de las revistas de ciencias sociales y humanas de Argentina, tarea que se realizó en el marco del Programa de Inveestigación sobre la Sociedad Argentina Contemporanea (PISAC). Este análisis mostró que las publicaciones periódicas locales son dinámicas y se encuentran diversificadas temática, geográfica e institucionalmente. Sin embargo, la mayoría no cuenta con equipos profesionales de gestión y edición, se publica sólo en formato papel y/o exhibe bajos niveles de visibilidad y circulación. En este contexto, esperamos que esta obra contribuya a un mayor y mejor desarrollo de las revistas de ciencias sociales y humanas de Argentina y América Latina.

Nuestra supervivencia como sociedad y también como especie está estrechamente vinculada a la interdependencia tanto entre los seres humanos entre sí, como entre éstos y otros seres vivos como las plantas y los animales. Esta interdependencia, sin embargo, es negada por las formas de vida concretas de las sociedades contemporáneas, casi todas ellas estructuradas sobre profundas desigualdades sociales y basadas en la ideología del excepcionalismo humano.     Description: The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a mass exodus of India’s migrant workers from the cities back to the villages. This book explores the social conditions and concerns around health, labour, migration, and gender that were thrown up as a result of this forced migration. The book examines the failings of the public health systems and the state response to address the humanitarian crisis which unfolded in the middle of the pandemic. It highlights how the pandemic-lockdown disproportionately affected marginalised social groups – Dalits and the Adivasi communities, women and Muslim workers. The book reflects on the socio-economic vulnerabilities of migrant workers, their rights to dignity, questions around citizenship, and the need for robust systems of democratic and constitutional accountability. The chapters also critically look at the gendered vulnerabilities of women and non-cis persons in both public and private spaces, the exacerbation of social stratification and prejudices, incidents of intimidation by the administration and the police forces, and proposed labour reforms which might create greater insecurities for migrant workers.     Description: El ascenso de los estudios interdisciplinarios a lo largo del siglo XX, en el caso de los estudios poscoloniales/descoloniales, ha producido una multiplicidad laberíntica de designaciones. Dicha diversidad se debe a diferencias teóricas y políticas pero también a linajes, rivalidades o lealtades. Las diferencias entre (y al interior de) los estudios poscoloniales y descoloniales implican demarcaciones académicas pero también una oposición al reduccionismo, ya que los problemas e impactos del colonialismo en los últimos siglos han sido heterogéneos y multiformes. La colección Epistemologías del Sur fue concebida en un formato de libros pequeños y ágiles, que más que conformar un gran edificio del conocimiento al que accedan unos pocos, se presentan como pequeñas artesanías a descubrir y como potentes brújulas para cruzar la línea abisal que separa las formas de sociabilidad metropolitanas de las experiencias coloniales.
