    Description: El cine constituye una poderosa herramienta cultural que opera de múltiples maneras en el rescate de memorias, así como en la reparación colectiva y conceptualización interdisciplinaria de experiencias traumáticas en comunidades devastadas por sistemáticas violaciones a sus derechos fundamentales. Hace perceptibles las prolongaciones de silenciadas o legitimadas violencias políticas tanto en el individuo como en el tejido social trastornado por perturbadoras marcas que desbaratan la existencia y la convivencia. Las expresiones cinematográficas no hacen referencia al ayer únicamente, sino que, sobre todo, cuestionan las pautas convencionales empleadas para articular pasado, presente y futuro a fin de explorar horizontes posibles. Como detonadoras de memoria y generadoras de conciencia, robustecen diferentes modi memorandi que tratan el pasado violento demasiado activo aún.

    Description: La autoría en autobiografías escritas por personas de origen africano, esclavizadas en América durante los siglos XVIII y XIX, no es carente de conflictividad. Durante siglos el uso del Yo, como voz referencial de autor fue una entidad privilegiada mediante relatos impresos elaborados por los propios protagonistas mientras se daba por sentado que el resto de vidas solo merecían permanecer confinadas en ámbitos estrictamente privados por ser consideradas vacías, vulgares, irrelevantes, dignas de ínfima atención pública. Gerardo Cham aborda los casos de tres autores y a una autora, cuyas narrativas testimoniales tuvieron gran difusión desde que fueron escritas: Olaudah Equiano, Mary Prince, Juan Francisco Manzano y Mahomma Gardo Baquaqua.

Verdeckung als analytische Kategorie ermöglicht es, Ambivalenzen sowie Gründe und Genese dieser Ein- und Ausschlussverhältnisse zu untersuchen. Daraus folgt keine Abkehr von Einschlussbemühungen, vielmehr ist die Auseinandersetzung mit Verdeckung essentiell für eine Gesellschaft, die aus kontingenztheoretischer Perspektive an ihrer normativen Semantik scheitern muss.     Description: América Latina atraviesa una marcada crisis ambiental, que está llevando al subcontinente a un colapso, entendido este como un cambio en la sociedad, y en la forma de vivir en la actualidad. Esta crisis ecológica se ha visto ahondada con la profundización del modelo económico neoliberal y del neoextractivismo, el cual ha generado una disputa por los bienes comunes. Al mismo tiempo en distintos territorios de la región se están desarrollando alternativas agroecológicas, cooperativas, redes de economía solidaria, eco-tecnologías apropiadas y nuevas construcciones societales basadas en paradigmas como el buen vivir, que van sembrando esperanzas de evitar el colapso, bajo el desarrollo de sociedades en movimiento que reflexionan y actúan en defensa de la madre tierra.

    The Novel in the Spanish Silver Age (2021)

    Description: What distinguishes an adventure novel from a historical novel? Can the same text belong to several genres? More to one than to another? Have some existing genres been overlooked? To answer these and similar questions, José Calvo Tello combines methods from Linguistics (lexicography), Literary Studies (genre theory), and Computer Science (machine learning, natural language processing). Located in the interdisciplinary field of Digital Humanities, this study analyzes a newly developed corpus of 358 Spanish novels of the silver age (1880-1939), which includes authors like Baroja, Pardo Bazán, or Valle-Inclán. Calvo Tello's key result is a graph-based model of literary genre that reconciles recent theoretical approaches.

    Description: Este libro presenta casos de experimentos sociales en El Salvador, Nicaragua, y Uruguay. En estos espacios, donde florecía la comunicación horizontal y multi-clasista, el concepto de utopías menores de Jay Winter es apropiado. Este ensayo toma inspiración de esa obra importante de Winter, rastreando lo que él llama las »visiones de transformación parcial«, que coexistían temporalmente con las grandes narrativas de transformación social, pero después perdieron su lugar propio en el record histórico. Trabajadores agrícolas en Chinandega, minifundistas en Morazán, y obreros fabriles en Montevideo, en medio de graves crisis sociales-económicas y políticas conquistaron espacios para defenderse, pero también de crear nuevas relaciones sociales y una experiencia de trabajo colectiva y libertadora.

Without being obstructed by knowledge gaps or by references to concepts presented elsewhere, readers inside and outside sociology get the required support to explore sociological systems theory and to engage with it. Luhmann himself, in his introduction, praises the form of the glossary to cope with the challenges of the theoretical description of our highly complex society.

    Description: A part of sociology always wants to distance itself from any interference in the practice, and another part to influence society. In the first case, sociology sees itself as a science that looks at society from the outside. In the second case, she can not evade her affiliation with society. But what do these supposedly contradictory goals mean for sociologists and what does that say about the subject itself? Natalie Mevissen investigates the relationship of sociology to society with the help of hermeneutic interview analyzes and at the same time formulates conditions for a sociology of sociology in theory and methodology. She advocates a change of perspective: away from a problem discourse towards a perspective of the elective affinity of sociology with society.
    Description: Ein Teil der Soziologie will sich seit jeher von jeglicher Einmischung in die Praxis distanzieren, ein anderer Teil in die Gesellschaft hineinwirken. Im ersten Fall begreift die Soziologie sich als Wissenschaft, die von Außen auf die Gesellschaft schaut. Im zweiten Fall kann sie sich ihrer Zugehörigkeit zur Gesellschaft nicht entziehen. Was jedoch bedeuten diese vermeintlich widersprüchlichen Ziele für Soziolog*innen und was sagt das über das Fach selbst aus? Natalie Mevissen untersucht das Verhältnis der Soziologie zur Gesellschaft mit Hilfe hermeneutischer Interviewanalysen und formuliert zugleich Bedingungen für eine theoretisch wie methodologisch fundierte Wissenschaftssoziologie der Soziologie. Sie plädiert für einen Perspektivwechsel: weg von einem Problemdiskurs hin zu einer Perspektive der Wahlverwandtschaft der Soziologie mit der Gesellschaft.

    Description: Between the world wars, Robert Musil and Hermann Broch replied to an era of catastrophes, which they brought close to their bodies with their protagonists, who were entangled in ideological salvation hopes: a pathogenesis of the bourgeois world for the 1930s. The fact that after 1933 they took their contemporaries' longing for a "world view" more and more seriously has often irritated the newborn. However, her »2nd order world view novel«, which is being unfolded here for the first time, still testifies to the enormous historical project of engaging with the language of the time and tracking down its most fatal tendencies with literary empathy and critical distance.
    Description: Robert Musil und Hermann Broch antworteten zwischen den Weltkriegen auf eine Epoche der Katastrophen, der sie mit ihren in weltanschauliche Erlösungshoffnungen verstrickten Protagonisten nah auf den Leib rückten: eine Pathogenese der bürgerlichen Welt für die 1930er Jahre. Dass sie nach 1933 die Sehnsucht ihrer Zeitgenossen nach einer »Weltanschauung« immer ernster nahmen, hat die Nachgeborenen nicht selten irritiert. Doch bezeugt noch heute ihr »Weltanschauungsroman 2.     Description: Practices of comparing shape how we perceive, organize, and change the world. Supposedly innocent, practices of comparing play a decisive role in forming categories, boundaries, and hierarchies; but they can also give an impetus to question and change such structures. Like almost no other human practice, comparing pervades all social, political, economic, and cultural spheres. This volume outlines the program of a new research agenda that places comparative practices at the center of an interdisciplinary exploration. The interdisciplinary contributions of the volume are dedicated to these experiences and their representations in various media such as Dance, music and film and especially ask about transcultural dimensions. The central example is the interface between Germany and South Asia.

    Description: Prototypes migrate from the workshops to society. They are no longer considered deficient because of incomplete objects. Rather, it is through the design of the material provisional that the social day after tomorrow is shaped and technologised. The production and reception of these artefacts is transformed from an exclusive expert activity to a public social practice: Prototypes are produced in publicly accessible Makerspaces and celebrated in urban event formats. Sascha Dickel shows that this can also be accompanied by a new form of criticism that does not oppose the technologization of the social, but opens up ways to design alternative futures in a technologically integrated world.

Vielmehr wird gerade durch das Design des materiell Vorläufigen das gesellschaftliche Übermorgen gestaltet und technologisiert. Die Produktion und Rezeption dieser Artefakte verwandelt sich dabei von einer exklusiven Expertentätigkeit zu einer öffentlichen sozialen Praxis: Prototypen werden in öffentlich zugänglichen Makerspaces hergestellt und in urbanen Eventformaten zelebriert. Sascha Dickel zeigt, dass damit auch eine neue Form der Kritik einhergehen kann, die nicht gegen die Technologisierung des Sozialen opponiert, sondern Wege erschließt, in einer technologisch verbauten Welt alternative Zukünfte zu entwerfen.
