    Evolution des captures et de l'effort de pêche des flottilles industrielles de petits pélagiques dans la zone économique exclusive mauritanienne (1991-1999) (2005)

    Description: Cette étude montre que les captures des espèces de petits pélagiques dans la Zone Economique Exclusive Mauritanienne de 1991 à 1999 fluctuent et se diversifient sous l'effet de la variation des abondances, des changements de stratégie et de l'arrivée de nouvelles flottilles dans la zone. Les captures des sardinelles sont multipliées par 3 suite à l'arrivée des flottilles de l'Union Européenne et au report sur ces deux espèces d'une partie de l'effort de pêche traditionnellement exercé sur les chinchards. Les captures de l'anchois ont connu une augmentation encore plus remarquable suite à l'entrée de la flottille de Saint Vincent et Grenadine et au report d'une partie de l'effort exercé auparavant sur d'autres espèces. Le sabre a en revanche presque disparu, après avoir occupé pendant quelques années une place importante dans les captures des flottilles de petits pélagiques, sous l'effet conjugué d'un désintérêt et probablement d'un phénomène de remplacement par les chinchards. L'analyse de l'effort de pêche nominal permet de suivre l'évolution des flottilles en présence, en particulier l'amélioration importante des caractéristiques physiques moyennes des navires. Catches of small pelagic species in the Mauritanian Economic Exclusive Zone fluctuate and diversify due to abundance variations, strategy changes and the arrival of new fleets in the area. The catches of sardinellas have increased threefold with the arrival of European Union fleets and the re-directing a part of the fishing effort traditionally focused on the horse mackerel. The catches of anchovy have increased even more significantly, because of the entry of Saint Vincent and Grenadine fleet and also due to the re-directing of part of the fishing effort previously focused on other species. Cutlassfish, on the other hand, almost disappeared, after having occupied an important place in the catches of the small pelagic fleets during several years, under the combined effects of a disinterest and probably of a phenomenon of replacement by horse mackerel. The analysis of nominal fishing effort allows to follow the evolution of the fleets during this period, particularly the improvements of the average physical characteristics of the ships.

    Description: Deux Analyses Factorielles de Correspondances (AFC), dont l'une est suivie d'une classification hiérarchique, sont réalisées sur les données de capture des petits pélagiques entre 1991 et 1999 dans la Zone Economique Exclusive mauritanienne. Elles permettent de mettre en évidence les déterminants des stratégies de pêche au niveau de cette zone pour les flottilles les plus importantes. Les facteurs comme l'année, les secteurs, la saison et la flottille sont ceux qui expliquent le mieux les variations des captures observées. Les captures augmentent et se diversifient sous l'effet des changements de stratégie et l'arrivée de nouvelles flottilles dans la zone.
    Description: The use of Factor Analysis of Correspondence, followed by a hierarchical classification based on catch data of small pelagic fish between 1991 and 1999 in the Mauritanian Economic Exclusive Zone, made it possible to highlight the determinants of fishing strategies distribution within this zone for the most important fleets. Factors such as year, sectors, season and fleets are those that explain most of variations in the observed catches. The captures increase and diversify due to strategy changes and the arrival of new fleets in the area.
