Zusammenfassung Glutacondialdehyd, gebildet aus Pyridylpyridiniumdichlorid und Natronlauge, kondensiert in saurer Lösung mit Hydrazinderivaten in der Regel zu Verbindungen der Zusammensetzung 1∶1. In manchen Fällen bilden sich bei ausreichendem Überschuß von Glutacondialdehyd auch 2∶1-Verbindungen. Die beiden Arten unterscheiden sich voneinander durch die Lage ihrer Absorptionsbanden. Der Reaktionsmechanismus und die Zusammensetzung werden optisch untersucht.

Abstract Glutacondialdehyde, prepared from pyridylpyridinium dichloride and sodium hydroxide, normally forms a coloured 1∶1-compound in its condensation reaction with hydrazine derivatives in acid solution. With glutacondialdehyde in excess concentration 2∶1-compounds are also formed exhibiting a different absorption spectrum. Reaction mechanisms and compositions of the condensation products have been investigated by means of optical measurements.
