    Description: Deutscher Gangsta-Rap hat es als Ort der symbolischen Austragung sozialer Konflikte seit der Jahrtausendwende zu einiger Bekanntheit gebracht. Hier kommen nicht nur Spannungen zwischen Hoch- und Popkultur, Migrationsgesellschaft und Nationalitäten, wirtschaftlichen Erfolgen und künstlerischem Anspruch deutlich zum Tragen, sondern auch strafrechtlich verfolgbare Beleidigungen und gesellschaftliche Diskursfähigkeit. Die Beiträger*innen des Bandes zeigen, dass dieses Phänomen der pluralen Gesellschaft exemplarisch für die Ambivalenzen der Moderne steht.

Statt kulturelle Standardisierungen mehr oder weniger unreflektiert Ethnien oder Nationen zuzuschreiben, stellt er explizit die Frage nach den Kulturträgern selbst: Kollektive jeder Form, Größe und Struktur. Sie verließen die Türkei aufgrund des Militärputsches von 1980, der Diskriminierung ihrer kurdischen und/oder alevitischen Identität oder des gescheiterten Gezi-Protests und erneuter Einschränkungen von Minderheitsgruppierungen im Musikleben. Kirsten Seidlitz untersucht, wie sie von Deutschland aus mit ihrem musikalischen Schaffen politisch kommentieren möchten, inwiefern die deutsche Gesellschaft mit Musik erreicht, aufgeklärt und beeinflusst werden kann, und ob die in Deutschland produzierte Musik in die Türkei zurückgelangen soll.

    Description: Dualistic thinking has been questioned by some writers associated with the material, ontological, and affective turns. Yet, these and other writers linked to the ›turns‹ have themselves reproduced dualistic theorizing. Caroline Braunmühl also shows that there are dualistic patterns in significant contributions to queer theory as well as Foucauldian diagnoses of the present. From a perspective sympathetic to the critical efforts made by poststructuralist and related theorists, she analyzes works by Sara Ahmed, Karen Barad, Michael Hardt, Antonio Negri, Michel Foucault, and others. The book suggests specific alternatives to dualistic as well as identitarian ways of framing conceptual pairs such as matter/mind, affect/discourse and negativity/affirmation.
