    Description: 2012 wurde das Netzwerk Landeskunde Nord gegründet, dessen Ziel es ist, Forschung und Lehre zur Landeskunde des Deutschen als Fremdsprache, insbesondere in den nordischen und den baltischen Ländern voranzutreiben. Die Publikation knüpft an die bereits erschienenen Bände Landeskunde Nord, Perspektive Nord und Spektrum Nord an und bietet weitere Beiträge zur wissenschaftlichen Theoriebildung in Verbindung mit unterrichtspraktischen Reflexionen und Projektvorstellungen. Dabei werden u.a. Brücken zwischen den verschiedenen Ebenen der Bildungssysteme geschlagen. Die Beiträge nehmen international geführte Fachdiskussionen u.a. zu Erinnerungsorten, Linguistic Landscapes und zum kreativen Schreiben auf und haben auch deshalb über die nordischen und baltischen Länder hinaus Bedeutung.

    Description: This volume expands the discussion on the language management (LM) framework through two themes: interests and power, which are driving forces of the LM process, observable and describable at every step. It consists of thirteen contributions analyzing diverse situations in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Authors focus on a range of topics, including the role of language ideologies in various types of institutions, such as higher education institutions and language cultivation centers, the struggle to maintain minority languages, the positions of the actors involved in the process of making policies concerning foreign language teaching, or the processes that learning and choosing to use foreign languages entail. Emergent insights into the commonalities in the ways in which interests and power guide or underlie the management of language, communication, and sociocultural problems contribute significantly to the strength of LM as a sociolinguistic framework.

    Description: Diese Verbleibstudie befasst sich mit den beruflichen Laufbahnen der Absolvent(inn)en des Bachelor-Studiengangs Deutsche Philologie der Universität Vilnius (Litauen). Die Umfrage der Jahrgänge 2002 bis 2018 wurde im Sommer 2018 durchgeführt. Im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchung stehen die folgenden Fragen: Welche Möglichkeiten eröffnet dieser Abschluss auf dem Arbeitsmarkt? Wie schätzen die Absolvent(inn)en ihre berufliche Tätigkeit und ihr Studium ein? Welche Empfehlungen hätten sie an die künftigen Studierenden und an die Entwickler des Studiengangs? Diese Studie wird vor allem für Auslandsgermanistiken interessant sein, weil sie unter anderem auch die germanistische Studienlandschaft in Litauen und die Entwicklung des Germanistikstudiums an der Universität Vilnius präsentiert.

    Description: La didactique du français ne peut faire l’économie de penser les effets des nouvelles technologies sur le français et sur son enseignement, au risque soit de perdre son adéquation au réel, soit de manquer d’un recul critique nécessaire pour se prémunir d’éventuels effets dommageables. L’enjeu de cet ouvrage est d’explorer, de part et d’autre de la frontière scolaire, traditionnellement étanche, les jeux de circulation et d’innovation qui en marquent la rénovation. Dans un premier temps sont regroupés les articles qui mettent au jour le renouvellement des pratiques enseignantes traditionnelles, la redéfinition de certains savoirs scolaires, la promotion du travail collaboratif, l’usage inédit des hyperliens et l’exploration de la multimodalité. Dans un second temps, plusieurs articles étudient les pratiques communicationnelles sur les réseaux sociaux et les plateformes de sociabilité numérique, ainsi que le possible usage de celles-ci pour établir des liens plus serrés entre l’école et la vie des élèves, voire d’imaginer de nouvelles voies d’actualisation du savoir et de la culture, à même de garantir la transmission, au cœur des ruptures induites par ces nouveaux medias eux-mêmes.

    Description: Language acquisition has been the subject of decades of research. Most of the previous research on second language acquisition has centered around adult learners, leaving child learners understudied by comparison. This book focuses on child second language development. The cross-sectional empirical study herein investigates the syntax-semantics interface in English speaking children acquiring German and French as second languages. The author discusses variables such as crosslinguistic influence, the complexity of the learning tasks, cognitive maturity and the learning context. By focusing on child second language acquisition in immersion education, this book not only substantially contributes to the field of second language acquisition but also offers important insights into teaching in an immersion context.
