    Beschreibung: In 1912 Jung began to have a series of dreams which left him with a sense of disorientation and inner pressure but he could think of nothing in his life that would have caused this. This chapter addresses each of the entries in Liber Primus and relates them to particular high degrees of Freemasonry. The first entry, The Way of What is to Come, was written in retrospect in July 1914 and is an overview of the rest of the entries in Liber Primus. This entry acts as an introduction to the fantasies where Jung personifies two distinct driving forces behind his knowledge and experience: ‘the spirit of this time’, by which he means scientific rationalism, and ‘the spirit of the depths’. In Jung’s entry there is a heavy emphasis on the role of the child and particularly on the concept of the divine child.

    Beschreibung: Gender relations implicate power and male privilege. Prisons largely house underprivileged men. How then do incarcerated men negotiate masculinities when gender relations in society-at-large, power relations inside prisons, and masculine ideas and ideals continue to change? Drawing on a semi-ethnographic study in a men’s prison in Ukraine, I detail how the dynamic nature of gender normative ideals coexist with the more constant features of gender order: masculine surveillance, censure, and stratification. I highlight that notwithstanding the existence of alternative and subordinate masculinities, the power of hegemonic masculinities in prison is far from waning despite continuously shifting normative expectations and evolving masculine ideals. Whilst adding to the scholarship that questions the hypermasculine image of the men’s prison world, this chapter, by foregrounding the costs men in prison bear in their daily struggle to attain and maintain masculine status, explains how men in prison are simultaneously victims and perpetrators of patriarchy.

    Beschreibung: The publication publishes excursions of the Ljubljana Geographical Society, carried out between April 2015 and May 2019. If we break down individual contributions according to their main characteristics, we can point out some interesting findings. Let us first mention their concentration in the western part of Slovenia. Southwestern Slovenia stands out as an area of strong regional dominance, with the participants taking advantage of two excursions to the wide-open state border with Italy, created by Slovenia's entry into the Schengen area. The variety of excursions according to the method of implementation is also noticeable. As a rule, classic bus transport is enriched by walking. Completely different logistics were needed to carry out a cycling excursion through the Slovenian and Italian Karst. There is a continuing tendency for geographical knowledge to increasingly complement the content of other disciplines, especially archeology and ethnology, which certainly enriches excursions due to a different view of the landscape and emphases that geographers usually ignore or do not know much about.
    Beschreibung: V publikaciji so objavljene ekskurzije Ljubljanskega geografskega društva, izvedene med aprilom 2015 in majem 2019. Če posamezne prispevke skušamo razčleniti po njihovih poglavitnih značilnostih, lahko izpostavimo nekaj zanimivih spoznanj. Naj najprej izpostavimo njihovo osredotočenost v zahodnem delu Slovenije. Kot območje izrazite regionalne prevlade izstopa jugozahodna Slovenija, pri čemer so udeleženci kar dveh ekskurzij s pridom izkoristili na široko razprto državno mejo z Italijo, nastalo z vstopom Slovenije v šengensko območje. Zaznavna je tudi raznovrstnost ekskurzij glede na način izvedbe. Klasične avtobusne prevoze praviloma popestri pešačenje. Povsem drugačna logistika je bila potrebna za izvedbo kolesarske ekskurzije po slovenskem in italijanskem Krasu. Nadaljuje se težnja, da geografska spoznanja v vse večji meri dopolnjujejo vsebine drugih disciplin, predvsem arheologije in etnologije, kar ekskurzije zagotovo bogati tako zaradi drugačnega videnja pokrajine kot poudarkov, ki jih geografi na svojih poteh navadno prezremo ali o njih ne vemo prav veliko.

Razvrščene so od severovzhoda proti jugozahodu~nekoliko izstopa Baška grapa, edina obravnavana pokrajina v severozahodni Sloveniji. Strokovne opise so pripravili poznavalci, ki bodisi živijo v tamkajšnjem okolju bodisi od tam izvirajo njihove korenine in so z njimi še vedno ohranili tesne vezi, tudi v poglobljenem zanimanju zanje. Podrobni opisi posameznih ekskurzij navajajo priporočljive točke za postanke in temeljitejše oglede značilnih pojavov in procesov, ob tem pa nazorno predstavijo aktualne tematike. Ob številnih zemljevidih, skicah, shemah, grafikonih in fotografijah je podajanje dovolj poljudno, da je razumljivo tudi povprečno razgledanemu bralcu.

    Beschreibung: Este libro publicado en 1970 y revisado en 1975, muestra el proceso deliberado de convertir el mosaico humano que habitaba el extenso territorio de la Nueva España en un estado-nación. La experiencia histórica y administrativa de tres siglos, había generado importantes lazos culturales, pero hasta entonces la lealtad a la Corona y la religión eran las fuentes principales de unión. Al romperse las ligas con España hubo que trasladar la lealtad del Rey al gobierno independiente, y como en otros casos, se recurrió a los rituales cívicos y a la educación pública y, dentro de ella, a la enseñanza de la historia patria. Este libro se ocupa precisamente de las modalidades que ha asumido ese intento a lo largo de siglo y medio. La investigación emprendió el análisis de los programas y libros de texto de historia, tanto oficiales como particulares, y los situó dentro del contexto del acontecer del Estado mexicano y de la educación pública. Por tanto es una obra de interés para educadores, estudiosos de la historia de México y del público en general.

    Beschreibung: As previous research on the role of the radio in (post)colonial India has shown, radio broadcasting is deeply implicated in the narratives of empire and postcolonial nation-building. Radio thus becomes seemingly synonymous with the imperial project during colonialism and with the national project in the postcolonial period. In this chapter, we shift scholarly attention to public discourse and audience formation during the early years of radio in colonial India (1925 and 1936). We analyse how early radio impacted people’s perception of space and place by re-structuring the geographies of ‘home’, ‘world’, and ‘empire’. We also show how the radio affected audiences along the rural-urban divide, re-configuring their understandings of sound, technology and listening.

    Beschreibung: This study attempts to illustrate the role of regional policy in the development of spatial structures and simultaneously determine the success and the possibly diverse response of individual instruments of regional policy to the structures of problem areas. We established that the influences of the regional policy are relatively minor, a consequence of the scant financial means devoted to the stimulation of regional development, the lack of power of the overall regional policy relative to all development currents introduced by inclusion in the European Union, and very aggressive globalization. However, we are able to cite some of its successes, mostly visible on the local level, although at higher levels their influence weakened. Because the goals of the regional policy in the previous period have not been achieved, we suggest some changes that would either strengthen the current method of stimulating regional development or abandon it altogether and turn toward the active stimulation of the polycentric network of cities that would result in the greater competitiveness of individual centers, which we hope would also have positive effects in their immediate hinterland.
    Beschreibung: Avtor v knjigi prikazuje vlogo regionalne politike pri razvoju prostorskih struktur, obenem pa ugotavlja uspešnost in morebitno različno odzivanje posameznih instrumentov regionalne politike na strukturne značilnosti problemskih območij. Poleg vidnih prostorskih vplivov so obravnavani tudi socioekonomski dejavniki, ki učinkujejo predvsem na prikrite prostorske strukture. V knjigi je zajet prostor kot celota, kot splet naravnih in družbenih prvin. Avtor ugotavlja, da so vplivi regionalne politike zaradi pičlih finančnih sredstev, nemoči regionalne politike ob vključitvi Slovenije v Evropsko unijo in globalizacije razmeroma majhni. V monografiji predstavljena raziskava je eden prvih poizkusov celostnega vrednotenja projektov slovenske regionalne politike. Poleg vrednotenja projektov podaja tudi širši vsebinski kontekst, ki lahko služi kot referenčni okvir morebitnim nadaljnjim vrednotenjem.

    Beschreibung: Iz vremskih in kozinskih plasti so predvsem iz paleoekološkega in deloma iz biostratigrafskega stališča raziskani štirje profili iz neposredne okolice Škocjanskih jam. Namen raziskave je bil proučevanje okolja sedimentacije plasti z giroplevrami v vremskih plasteh in tistega dela kozinskih plasti, kjer se pojavljajo haraceje in polži. Školjke iz rodu Gyropleura, Apricardia in morda še druge školjke so v apnencih vremskih plasti na drugotnem mestu~školjke so živele v plitvi vodi nedaleč od obale, na drugotno mesto so jih prinesli valovi in tokovi~odsotnost rapidionin v horizontih z giroplevrami potrjuje trditev, da so bile lupine nametane proti obali, saj so rapidionine živele v izrazito lagunskem okolju. Na plitvo okolje sedimentacije kažejo tudi laminiti~pri haracejah iz kozinskih plasti imamo primere flore na mestu in primere presedimentiranih delov haracej (oogonijev)~oogonije so vodni tokovi prenašali proti globljim delom sedimentacijskega bazena. Skupaj z nepresedimentiranimi haracejami se pogosto pojavljajo tudi polži, s kemično analizo kisikovih in ogljikovih izotopov v vzorcih pa je bil ugotovljen večkraten vpliv sladke vode na morsko okolje.

    Beschreibung: This chapter will, first, reconstructs Axel Honneth’s account of the significance of recognition in his book The Struggle for Recognition and track some of the unresolved tensions in it and their role in Honneth’s subsequent work. The final part of the chapter focusses on Honneth’s more recent monograph The Freedom’s Right, in which an oscillation of his position between universalism and historicism or relativism pauses in the latter end. This limits the applicability of the theory outside the confines of Europe or the West. It turns out that the reconstruction and immanent critique of Honneth’s work, however, supports recognition-theoretical universalism.

    Beschreibung: V razvitem svetu je depresija ena najpogostejših duševnih motenj. Prizadene lahko kogarkoli in močno ovira vsakodnevno delovanje. Depresija je ozdravljiva, mogoče jo je preprečiti, predvsem pa je mogoče doseči, da se ne ponovi. Bipolarna motnja razpoloženja je prav tako pogosta in mnogokrat jo zamenjamo za druge duševne motnje. Spada med resne duševne motnje, vendar jo je mogoče uspešno zdraviti, preprečevati ponovitve in človek lahko z njo živi povsem običajno in uspešno. O duševnih motnjah še vedno ne zmoremo v naši družbi odkrito in brezskrbno govoriti, saj jih spremljajo stigma, sram, nerazumevanje in močan strah. Ljudje zato pogosto odlašajo z iskanjem strokovne pomoči, si skušajo pomagati sami in se včasih zatekajo tudi k neustreznim rešitvam. Zato priročnik o prepoznavanju in obvladovanju depresije in bipolarne motnje razpoloženja, s pomočjo osebnih zgodb običajnih ljudi pojasnjuje, kako poteka prepoznavanje teh dveh motenj, kakšno je življenje z njima ter kakšne so možnosti za samopomoč in zdravljenje.

    Chapter 8 Stakeholders' normative notions of sustainability (2022)

    Beschreibung: Chapter 8 = Many fisheries world-wide are not operating sustainably. Returning to sustainable levels is challenging as fisheries are embedded in complex marine social-ecological systems and bringing the system back to a path of sustainability will likely involve conflicts and tough choices. A first step towards a path of sustainability relates to understanding the (different) normative notions of sustainability held by different stakeholder groups. We use the (German) Western Baltic Sea as a case study to elicit these normative views. At a workshop with representatives of relevant stakeholder groups, we conducted a questionnaire-based survey. Questions were inspired by the stochastic-viability-conceptualization of strong ecological-economic sustainability under uncertainty. The survey focused on sustainability as a normative goal for fisheries management from a societal perspective. It returns quantitative results which can be directly utilized in fisheries management. We find considerable variation across as well as within stakeholder groups in their normative views on sustainability. Still, it seems to be consensus among all stakeholders that the different groups have legitimate claims to the Western Baltic Sea, providing common ground on how to 28 sustainably use the WBS, and a well-designed transdisciplinary approach with broad exchange between different stakeholders and science seems useful to steer the WBS into a sustainable future.

    Beschreibung: En mayo de 1994, México se convirtió en el miembro número 25 de la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económicos (OCDE). Este acontecimiento fue sumamente controvertido tanto en el seno de la organización como al interior de nuestro país. La OCDE no había aceptado el ingreso de otros candidatos por más de veinte años y había concentrado sus actividades solamente entre sus miembros tradicionales. Asimismo, México se sumaba a lo que hasta entonces se consideraba como un "club exclusivo" que integraba a los países capitalistas más desarrollados del planeta ¿Cómo se desenvolvió el inicio de la participación de México en la OCDE y en qué momento ambos actores internacionales se hicieron convergentes? ¿De qué manera fue posible que una organización hermética, y que hallaba su identidad en una tajante división del mundo según los niveles de desarrollo de cada Estado, aceptase la membresía de un país de menor desarrollo relativo? ¿Bajo qué restricciones México se alineó a los objetivos y valores de la OCDE y qué consecuencias se fueron derivando de lo anterior? Finalmente, ¿cuáles han sido a lo largo del tiempo los costos y beneficios reales de la participación de un país como México en una organización como la OCDE, así como la posición e influencia que cada uno ha manejado con respecto al otro?     Beschreibung: Steep socioeconomic hierarchy in post-industrial Western society threatens public health because of the physiological consequences of material and psychosocial insecurities and deprivations. Following on from their previous books, the authors continue their exploration of the geography of early mortality from age-related chronic conditions, of risk behaviors and their health outcomes, and of infant and child mortality, all due to rigid hierarchy. They divide the 50 states into those that gave their electoral college votes to Trump and those that gave theirs to Clinton in the 2016 presidential election and compare the two sets for socioeconomic and public health profiles. They deliberately apply only simple standard statistical methods in the public health analyses: t-test, Mann-Whitney test, bivariate regression, and backward stepwise multivariate regression. The book assumes familiarity with basic statistics. The authors argue that the unequal power relations that result in eroding public health in the nation and, in particular, in the Trump-voting states, largely cascade from the collapse of American industry, and they analyze the Cold War roots of that collapse. In two largely independent chapters on economics, they explore both the suppression of countervailing forces, such as organized labor, and the diversion of technical resources to the military as essential foundations to the population-level suffering that expressed itself in the 2016 presidential election. This interdisciplinary book has several primary audiences: creators of public policies, such as legislators and governmental staff, public health professionals and social epidemiologists, economists, labor union professionals, civil rights advocates, political scientists, historians, and students of these disciplines from public health through the social sciences. V okviru 521 slovarskih sestavkov, ki jih na makrostrukturni ravni uvaja enobesedna iztočnica, so celovito in sistematično opisane pomenske, slovnične, pragmatične in druge lastnosti eno- in večbesednih nefrazeoloških in frazeoloških leksikalnih enot. Slovarska zasnova je natančneje prikazana v Konceptu novega razlagalnega slovarja slovenskega knjižnega jezika, ki so ga leta 2015 potrdili in sprejeli Znanstveni svet Inštituta za slovenski jezik Frana Ramovša ZRC SAZU, Znanstveni svet ZRC SAZU, Razred za filološke in literarne vede SAZU in Predsedstvo SAZU.

European Women in Architecture and Design. 1918-2018 prinaša izbor nekaterih najbolj reprezentativnih primerov evropske arhitekture in oblikovanja, ki jih je sto žensk ustvarilo v obdobju od konca prve svetovne vojne do danes. Izbrano število del je simbolično, saj 'sto' v latinščini lahko pomeni tudi 'nešteto' (lat. centium), medtem ko število ustvarjalk – vsako delo ima drugo avtorico – izhaja iz namena MoMoWo projekta predstaviti čim več različnih avtoric in s tem posledično osvetliti tudi manj znane osebnosti. Katalog vsebuje biografije arhitektk, gradbenih inženirk, oblikovalk na področju notranjega in industrijskega oblikovanja, urbanistk in krajinskih arhitektk iz 26-tih držav. Zastopane so glavne smeri in pomembne 'šole' na področju arhitekture in oblikovanja iz vse Evrope.     Beschreibung: This introductory chapter sets out with a review of the existing literature on differentiation in the European Union (EU); it explains the related concepts and includes a cursory glossary of them at the end. In a nutshell, we conceive of differentiation as an umbrella term covering a wide range of both integrationist and – albeit to a much lesser extent – disintegrationist techniques and processes such as multi-speed Europe, variable geometry, and à la carte Europe. While differentiation has not been a constituent feature in the early stages of the European project starting after World War II, it became ever more central since the 1970s and, in particular, in the aftermath of the Treaty of Maastricht when the EU was characterized as a system of differentiated integration rather than integration only. In light of ‘Brexit’, i.e. the United Kingdom’s withdrawing from the EU, however, differentiation also accounts for processes of disintegration. Most importantly, differentiation may ultimately also prove to be an important element towards sustaining – if not self-reinforcing – integration. Finally, this chapter also provides overview of contemporary studies of differentiation in the EU and provides an overview of the contents and contributions of this Handbook.

Simulation modeling is flexible enough to accommodate different levels of detail, precision and time frameworks.     Beschreibung: Knjiga prinaša izbor člankov, ki jih je avtorica objavila med letoma 1973 in 1996 v raznih periodičnih publikacijah. Del besedil obravnava slavistično, zlasti slovenistično problematiko in znotraj te predvsem jezik Brižinskih spomenikov, del pa indoiranistično, tudi v povezavi s slavistično, vse pa v luči diahronega jezikoslovja. Razvrstiti jih je mogoče v naslednje skupine: (1) etimološko, v kateri so z etimološkega stališča prvič, na novo ali dodatno osvetljene posamezne besede, (2) slovnično, v kateri so obravnavani posamezni glasovni in oblikoslovni pojavi, (3) besedila s problematiko predzgodovinskih slovansko-iranskih jezikovnih stikov in (4) besedila, ki obravnavajo problematiko slovenskosti Brižinskih spomenikov. Besedila so razvrščena po takem kronološkem redu, kot so izhajali izvirni članki. Knjigi sledita dva dodatka, in sicer seznam uporabljene literature z naslovom Združeni viri in Kazalo izbranih besed oblik in morfemov.

    Beschreibung: The monograph ('Lipalja Vas and Its Slovenian Speech') presents a detailed and methodologically sophisticated description of the Zilja local dialect of Slovenian as spoken by its last speakers in the northwestern most part of the Slovenian ethnic territory.The introductory contribution ('Lipalja Vas 200 Years Ago: The Home of Kovači, Trinki and Temmli') authored by a historian and writer Vlado Klemše portrays Lipalja vas at the beginning of the 19th century on the basis of toponyms from the Franciscean cadastre. Karmen Kenda-Jež’s contribution ('Spoken Texts from Lipalja Vas'), which was prepared in collaboration with Robert Grošelj and Vera Smole, is the first detailed linguistic analysis of the Slovenian local dialect of Lipalja vas. It provides a commented selection of texts recorded at the research camp in 2005 written in Slovenian dialect transcription.
    Beschreibung: Monografija prinaša podroben in metodološko izdelan jezikoslovni opis slovenskega ziljskega govora zadnjih govorcev na skrajnem severozahodnem robu slovenskega etničnega ozemlja. Uvodni prispevek Vlada Klemšeta na podlagi zemljepisnih krajevnih in ledinskih imen iz franciscejskega katastra predstavlja podobo Lipalje vasi v začetku 19. stoletja. Prispevek Karmen Kenda-Jež, ki je nastal v sodelovanju z Robertom Grošljem in Vero Smole, pomeni prvo podrobnejšo jezikoslovno obravnavo slovenskega govora Lipalje vasi (komentiran izbor besedil). Skozi pripovedi informantov, vseh treh v vasi rojenih maternih govorcev slovenskega jezika, se odstira pogled v organiziranost družinskega in vaškega življenja sredi in konec 20. stoletja. Študija Roberta Grošlja opisuje skladnjo slovenskega koroškega ziljskega govora v Lipalji vasi na temelju skladenjskega dela vprašalnice za OLA. Analiza gradivsko temelji na pogovorih, posnetih v Lipalji vasi v letih 2000 in 2005. Monografijo sklene prispevek Mateja Šeklija, ki prinaša etimološko razlago in seznam slovenskih hišnih imen ter poimenovanj hišnih gospodarjev in gospodinj po starih hišnih številkah.

    Beschreibung: Movement and mobility, in its various modes, have strong implications for social, political and cultural dimensions of peoples’ daily lives and their broader social realities. The book addresses individual experiences of movement, focusing on spatial and temporal implications of movement and mobility. The core idea is that mobility and movement engender moving places – places the location of which is not geographically fixed but relative. Places such as home and homeland appear to be fixed and immobile, but in practice they are always contested and depend on practices, imaginaries and politics of movement. They are continuously redefined through given social, political, historical and economic contingencies. The book explores the interrelatedness between spatial configuration and practices and politics of movement, mobility and immobility. Ethnographically, the book explores the specificities of given regions, addressing two basic topics of place-making linked through movement. The first one is relationality, i.e. relations between centres and peripheries as well as relations between people and places as they are generated through movement. Both topics are explored ethnographically and comparatively, enriching theoretical discussion on movement, mobility, immobility and place making.
    Beschreibung: Knjiga obravnava posameznikove izkušnje gibanj in se sprašuje o njegovih družbenih, prostorskih ter časovnih posledicah: gibanje posameznikov povzroča tudi gibanje krajev. Kraji in njihove lokacije niso geografsko statični, temveč so relativni in odnosni. Kraji, kot so dom in domovina, za katere se pogosto zdi, da so sorazmeroma stabilni in nepremakljivi, so pravzaprav nenehno pogojeni in na nek način ujeti v prakse, imaginarije in politike gibanj. So odnosi in relacije, katerih pomen in lokacija sta odvisna od določenega družbenega, ekonomskega, zgodovinskega in naključnega konteksta. Knjiga združuje prispevke, ki izhajajoč iz etnografske perspektive naslavljajo gibanja in raziskujejo vzpostavljanje odnosov med ljudmi in kraji ter ustvarjanje relativnih lokacij v različnih, a med seboj povezanih območjih v Sloveniji, Albaniji in Argentini. Njihove diskusije naslavljajo dve med seboj prepleteni tematiki. Prva se nanaša na odnosnost med centrom in periferijo, kot tudi med ljudmi in kraji, ki se ustvarjajo skozi gibanje. Druga tematika omenjenega sklopa, pa povezuje koncept korenin in vračanja, ki je opredeljen kot fizično ali simbolno premikanje v določenem kraju in lokaciji.

Sprašujejo se, katere vloge sta pri transformaciji obstoječe svetovne ureditve na področjih kulture, politike, gospodarstva in vsakdanjega življenja odigrali (pol)periferija modernega svetovnega-sistema na eni strani ter modernistična literatura in teorija na drugi. Kako sta bili kritična teorija in neoavantgardna literatura po svetu, na Slovenskem in v Jugoslaviji prepleteni s študentskim protestništvom, ki se je zavzemalo za transformacijo kapitalističnega svetovnega-sistema in njegove socialistične alternative?     Beschreibung: Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika 2016 je elektronska izdaja, ki predstavlja leksikografski in teoretski doprinos temeljnega informativno-normativnega enojezičnega razlagalnega slovarja slovenskega jezika. Novi slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika je temeljni informativno-normativni enojezični razlagalni slovar slovenskega jezika srednjega obsega, ki opisuje jezikovno stanje in pojmovni svet sodobnega slovenskega jezika, interpretirana glede na jezikovno rabo, izkazano v raznovrstnih sodobnih, predvsem korpusnih, gradivskih virih. V okviru njegovih slovarskih sestavkov, ki jih na makrostrukturni ravni uvaja enobesedna iztočnica, so celovito in sistematično opisane pomenske, slovnične, pragmatične in druge lastnosti eno- in večbesednih nefrazeoloških in frazeoloških leksikalnih enot. Slovar je izdelan povsem na novo in je v skladu s sodobno leksikografsko prakso oblikovan primarno za uporabo v spletnem okolju in drugih digitalnih okoljih. Jezikovni podatki so v njem opisani, organizirani in prikazani tako, da bi bil slovar čim bolj uporaben in razumljiv.

    Beschreibung: The book Glasba, politika, afekt: novo življenje partizanskih pesmi v Sloveniji ('Music, Politics, Affect: New Lives of Partisan Songs in Slovenia') explores the potentialities of music in imagining alternatives and establishing alliances, which introduce new senses of belonging and solidarity in global neoliberal capitalism. It examines the reactualization of partisan songs in post-Yugoslav Slovenia with an emphasis on the collective spirit, its rebelliousness and emancipatory potential. In researching the “new lives” of partisan songs, the book focuses on the self-organized female choir Kombinat, an emblematic example of thinking about the partisan art in Slovenia today. Just a part of Kombinat repertoire, partisan songs are discursively, sonically, spatially, ideologically and symbolically reloaded, challenging thus the various boundaries in thinking about this legacy in Slovenian context. Using theoretical framework of affect theory, and particularly theories of music materialism and sonic affect, the book provides an alternative perspective to our understanding of political capacity of music. It addresses four main issues: the role of music and sound in political mobilization and participation, the potentials of musical alliances and musical self-organization and self-education, referencing musical past as a way of political engagement, and finally, revitalization and reactualization of socialist ideas and values in the current moment of global transition.

    Beschreibung: In both Management and I/O Psychology, contributions to theory remain an important, and in many cases, sole criterion for evaluating submissions to top journals. In many ways, the definition of theory and the primacy of theory in the organizational sciences is an outlier; in most sciences, articles rarely even mention theories, much less build themselves around advancing theory. We propose that the classic description of the scientific methods provides a better guide to understanding the relationships between data, methods and theory than our current model, which often starts and ends with proposing a theory, which may never again be referenced or tested. We describe a pyramid of types of evidence that is useful for assessing the reliability and worth of particular sorts of data and show how this approach to evidence informs the scientific method and assists in identifying and building useful theories.

    Beschreibung: Whether it is possible to ensure stability, peace and social cohesion in countries with deep societal divisions where identity prevails over other bases of mobilisation is one of the central political questions of our time. What type of institutional design suits deeply mobilised cleavages? This chapter discusses the different institutional approaches adopted in three federations of Africa to manage politically mobilised cleavages, and examines whether institutional design matters in addressing demands from politically mobilised groups. The main issue is whether such divisions should be treated as building-blocks for political engagement and institutions built around them, or rather be diffused and deliberately divided into several sub-units. It is argued that institutional design does matter, particularly when there are deep territorially-based divisions, and proposes consociational parliamentary federations as opposed to integrationist presidential federations. The latter aim to divide major ethnic groups into many small-size states denying their self-government right, while the former aim to empower groups by redrawing territories to ensure they become a majority at sub-state level. They also bring the major political actors into power and minimise the risks of ‘winner-takes-all’ politics associated with presidential systems.

Za celotno območje so zbrani in dopolnjeni podatki drugih naravoslovnih ved. Delo nam prinaša opis 1036 rastlinskih taksonov, ki so razvrščeni po abecednem redu znanstvenih imen. Pri večini vrst so njihovi življenjski prostori opredeljeni po Physis kategorizaciji, za nekatere pa so navedene tudi fitocenološke enote, v katerih rastejo. Izpostavljeni so problemi ogroženosti rastišč nekaterih redkih in endemičnih vrst, vpliv nasadov iglavcev ter pojav neavtohtonih rastlin, naposled pa tudi naravovarstvena tematika v luči evropskega projekta Natura 2000.

Uno de los principales temas que se tratan en esta obra es el conjunto de repercusiones que acarreó la Gran Depresión estadunidense sobre las economías latinoamericanas. En particular, se muestra que al tiempo que cayeron las exportaciones de México, se dinamizaron los mercados internos y se sentaron así las bases para la acumulación de capital productivo en el país. Sin embargo, al no existir políticas macroeconómicas claramente definidas por parte de los gobiernos posrevolucionarios, el crecimiento industrial fue en gran medida desordenado y produjo efectos nocivos a largo plazo en el entero ámbito económico. Así, aunque este libro aborda sobre todo el periodo que va de fines de los años veinte a 1940, presenta un modelo que permite comprender de una forma novedosa la situación de la economía mexicana prevaleciente en la actualidad.

    Beschreibung: Molnik is a hill in the hinterland of Ljubljana in central Slovenia that has been known as an archaeological site for quite some time. Systematic investigations ensued in the 1980s and 1990s, led by Ivan Puš, then curator in the Mestni muzej Ljubljana. They revealed ramparts and habitation terraces on the summit of the hill, as well as flat and tumulus graves on five locations around the summit that date to the Early Iron Age and some finds from later periods.

However, the manner in which the global governance norms underlying the SDGs are actually being diffused is under-researched and not well understood. This book considers the promotion of the SDGs through the lens of norm diffusion theory, with a focus on three SDG policy areas; health, education and decent work. A distinctive feature of the book is that it offers multiple original case studies of SDG norm diffusion involving Asian and European actors. A unique feature is that the case studies in the book identify relevant SDG norm senders and norm receivers, and examine the relationship between them. The book also challenges the assumption that the SDGs themselves are static and unchanging, and reveals how SDG norms are dynamic and can be reformulated as a result of contestation between norm senders and norm receivers. As well as introducing a diverse and original set of case studies, the book therefore allows readers to deepen their understandings of the policy diffusion mechanisms by which SDGs are diffused, and grasp the patterns of success and failure in the implementation of these policies.

Those who have a relationship with a person who has a personality disorder, usually do not know what they are facing, but they do experience feelings of unease, despair, sadness, anger and depression, while doubting their own experience and perception of the world. Family and friends often feel like they are “caught in a relationship web”, which keeps getting more and more tangled, instead of untangling. Personality disorders cause everyone a lot of suffering, anger and disappointment, manifesting in every dimension of the human experience, but the behavior of a person with a personality disorder and the responses from the environment are actually a lot more predictable than you might imagine. In order to present this demanding and little-known topic to the widest range of readers, the handbook uses stories of everyday people to illustrate how their experiences of personality disorders intertwine with stress, mood disorders and problems with addiction. It also presents the process of identifying individual personality disorders and various options of self-help and recovery. The handbook is intended for anyone who is interested in the field of personality disorders, is personally facing mental health problems, or has a relative who is dealing with these issues.
    Beschreibung: Ko govorimo o osebnostnih motnjah, se ljudje navadno odzovejo zelo čustveno. Največkrat se pojavijo boleča in neprijetna čustva. Tisti, ki so vpeti v odnos z osebo z izkušnjo osebnostne motnje, praviloma ne vedo, s čim se soočajo, občutijo pa nelagodje, obup, žalost, jezo in depresijo in dvomijo o lastnem doživljanju in dojemanju sveta. Bližnje osebe se pogosto počutijo, kot da bi bile »ujete v klobčič odnosa«, ki se kar naprej zapleta, ne pa razpleta. Osebnostne motnje povzročajo vsem veliko trpljenja, jeze in razočaranja in se kažejo v vseh razsežnostih človekovega bivanja, vendar so vedenje osebe z izkušnjo osebnostne motnje in odzivi okolice bolj pričakovani in predvidljivi, kot bi si lahko predstavljali. Da bi to zahtevno in pri ljudeh premalo poznano tematiko čim bolj približali najširšemu krogu bralcev, je v priročniku z zgodbami običajnih ljudi prikazan preplet njihovih izkušenj osebnostnih motenj, stresa, motenj razpoloženja in težav zaradi zasvojenosti. Predstavljeno je tudi, kako poteka prepoznavanje posamezne osebnostne motnje in kakšne so možnosti samopomoči in okrevanja.

    Beschreibung: This volume (‘Former waste disposal sites in dolines and gravel pits’) presents former waste disposal sites in depressions (dolines and gravel pits) using relief analysis of the former and current landscape and based on comparing them with one another. A comprehensive methodological approach has been created called the three-dimensional (3D) model, which is used to detect and record unknown, hidden former waste disposal sites in depressions above sensitive aquifers. The research deals with the problem of former waste disposal sites from the viewpoint of discovering them, creating a registry, and studying noticeable surface effects on the landscape (relief, soil, and vegetation).
    Beschreibung: Monografija predstavlja nekdanja odlagališča odpadkov v kotanjah (vrtače, gramoznice) z uporabo reliefne analize nekdanje in sedanje pokrajine ter na podlagi njune medsebojne primerjave. Z analizo reliefa smo na vzorčnih območjih Logaškega polja in Logaškega ravnika ter Ljubljanskega polja določili izhodiščno stanje vrtač in gramoznic pred njihovim zasipavanjem z odpadki. Dobljene rezultate smo preverjali s terenskim delom. Vzorčili (sondirali) smo prsti nad odpadki, na preseku zasutih kotanj smo merili električno upornost tal, s fitogeografskim popisom pa smo določili indikatorske rastline, ki so pokazatelj navzočnosti organskih odpadkov v kotanji. Rezultati terenskega preučevanja pomenijo nova izhodišča za bodoče geoinformacijske analize rastlinstva in prsti na odlagališčih odpadkov. Izsledki monografije so pomembna podlaga za morebitno izdelavo katastra nekdanjih odlagališč odpadkov na ravni celotne Slovenije, kjer je odprtih še veliko metodoloških izzivov, povezanih z različnimi tipi podatkov.

    Beschreibung: The free movement of services, one of the four fundamental freedoms of the European Union's (EU) internal market, allows companies to post their employees to other EU Member States. In Slovenia, the concept of cross-border posting became relevant after the country joined the EU in 2004. The number of posted workers in Slovenia has been growing steadily since then and is among the highest in the EU. An increase in posting has also been observed in the EU as well. One of the main reasons for the rapid increase in the number of workers posted to wealthier EU countries is the accession of ten new Member States in 2004, with significant differences in living standards between the `new´ and `old´ Member States. Focusing on Slovenia, an important reason for Slovenia’s high numbers of posted workers is also its proximity to the countries of the former Yugoslavia and the strong migrant flows from these countries to the EU via Slovenian companies. As a result, the number of workers posted from Slovenia to other EU Member States has been one of the highest in the EU over the past decade.

    Beschreibung: This chapter examines the choices made regarding film sound—music, sound, and noise—for creating a target-oriented image of Japan for the anticipated German audience in Atarashiki tsuchi (New Earth aka Die Tochter des Samurai, 1937). This Japanese-German co-produced film, produced entirely in Japan, with a binational cast and crew and in a highly politicised context, was supposed to showcase both contemporary Japan and its film industry to the world. The use of sound for the creation of meaning in this film has been largely overlooked in favour of its strong visuals. However, an analysis of selected sections shows that the major messages are actually encoded on the soundtrack and that a focus on sound provides a potent tool for revealing the underlying imbalance regarding cultural power and authority at work in the project.

    Beschreibung: The book brings a thorough review of landslide susceptibility in Slovenia. In the introductory chapter the most significant geographical and other Slovenian literature on slope processes is listed, and then the basic characteristics of landslides are explained. The landslide susceptibility in Slovenia is presented on the example of twelve large landslides, followed by the chapter on legislation on natural disasters in Slovenia.The most important part of the book is the detailed description of methods for elaboration landslide susceptibility maps with different methods. The deterministic, statistical and probabilistic methods and corresponding maps are described into detail. Such maps have been elaborated with the geographical information system using the digital elevation model 25 x 25 m. Landslide susceptibility is finally presented in the framework of the regionalization of Slovenia that had been elaborated by the Anton Melik Geographical Institute SRC SASA and for all Slovenian municipalities. The last chapter of the book is important for geomorphology, describing the role of the landslides for the formation of relief.The book is intended to be used in spatial planning, physical geography, geography of natural hazards and other branches of geography as well as in related sciences.

Najprej je predstavljen opis dvanajstih večjih pojavov, sledi poglavje o zakonodaji na področju naravnih nesreč v Sloveniji, najpomembnejši del knjige pa je poglavje z opisom metod za izdelavo zemljevidov plazovitosti. V knjigi so predstavljene deterministične, statistične in probabilistične metode. Za geomorfologijo je pomembno zadnje poglavje, ki govori o zemeljskih plazovih kot oblikovalcih reliefa. Delo je namenjeno načrtovalcem rabe prostora in drugim uporabnikom prostora, poglabljanju študija fizične geografije, geografije naravnih nesreč, uporabno pa je tudi širše v geografiji in v geografiji sorodnih vedah.
