    Description: Sieben Kunstschulen in Niedersachsen führten in den Jahren 2005 und 2006 Projekte entlang der Schnittstelle von Kunstproduktion und Bildungsarbeit durch. Dabei setzten sie sich mit Strategien der Gegenwartskunst auseinander, die auf Prozess, Kooperation und Intervention basieren. Das Buch bietet eine Reflexion und Theoretisierung dieser Projekterfahrungen und zeigt sowohl die Probleme als auch die Potenziale der Arbeit im Zwischenraum von Kunst und Bildung auf. Es möchte neue Impulse für die Kunstvermittlung geben, zu eigenen Experimenten und zum Weiterdenken anregen. Der partizipativ angelegte Forschungsprozess belegt, dass es möglich ist, die Komplexität der Prozesse in solchen Projekten zu analysieren und zu beschreiben und dabei die Beteiligung der Akteure und Akteurinnen als konstitutiv für den Erkenntnisprozess zu verstehen.

    Description: Supply Chain 4.0 is designed, planned, managed and optimized using Industry 4.0 technologies. There are many research issues and challenges associated with Supply Chain 4.0, a data rich complex system. The available data can interpret what happened in the past, what is currently happening, what will happen in the future and what are the best actionable decisions. Digitalization, visibility, connectivity and interoperability are integrated in Supply Chain 4.0. The operational, tactical and strategic plans across the supply chain are digitally interlinked and real-time synchronized with a 360-degree view. The win–win partnerships are dynamic and sustainable, with agility, flexibility and responsiveness to uncertain business environments. New models and methods are advocated to implement Supply Chain 4.0 research and development. With the progress and implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies, it is anticipated that there will be more and more breakthroughs in the models and methods of Supply Chain 4.0.     Description: Microfluidic platforms are increasingly being used for separating a wide variety of particles based on their physical and chemical properties. In the past two decades, many practical applications have been found in chemical and biological sciences, including single cell analysis, clinical diagnostics, regenerative medicine, nanomaterials synthesis, environmental monitoring, etc. In this Special Issue, we invited contributions to report state-of-the art developments in the fields of micro- and nanofluidic separation, fractionation, sorting, and purification of all classes of particles, including, but not limited to, active devices using electric, magnetic, optical, and acoustic forces; passive devices using geometries and hydrodynamic effects at the micro/nanoscale; confined and open platforms; label-based and label-free technology; and separation of bioparticles (including blood cells), circulating tumor cells, live/dead cells, exosomes, DNA, and non-bioparticles, including polymeric or inorganic micro- and nanoparticles, droplets, bubbles, etc. Practical devices that demonstrate capabilities to solve real-world problems were of particular interest.

    Magnetic Resonance Imaging on Patients with Implanted Cardiac Pacemakers (2021)

    Description: The aim of this work was to identify the patterns that can induce heating around implanted cardiac pacemakers during MRI and to develop strategies to counteract them. Two approaches were taken: computer simulations of the occurring electromagnetic field distributions and in-vitro experiments using phantoms in real MRI devices, both for conventional bore-hole and new open MRI systems. Using the open MRI, the observed heating could be reduced significantly.

    Description: In this work, the realization limits of an impulse-based Ultra-Wideband (UWB) localization system for indoor applications have been thoroughly investigated and verified by measurements. The analysis spans from the position calculation algorithms, through hardware realization and modeling, up to the localization experiments conducted in realistic scenarios. The main focus was put on identification and characterization of limiting factors as well as developing methods to overcome them.

    Description: This open access book is the first of a two-volume series focusing on how people are being enabled or constrained to live well in today’s world, and how to bring into reality a world worth living in for all. The chapters offer unique narratives drawing on the perspectives of diverse groups such as: asylum-seeking and refugee youth in Australia, Finland, Norway and Scotland; young climate activists in Finland; Australian Aboriginal students, parents and community members; families of children who tube feed in Australia; and international research students in Sweden. The chapters reveal not just that different groups have different ideas about a world worth living in, but also show that, through their collaborative research initiative, the authors and their research participants were bringing worlds like these into being. The volume extends an invitation to readers and researchers in education and the social sciences to consider ways to foster education that realises transformed selves and transformed worlds: the good for each person, the good for humankind, and the good for the community of life on the planet. The book also includes theoretical chapters providing the background and rationale behind the notion of education as initiating people into ‘living well in a world worth living in'. An introductory chapter discusses the origins of the concept and the phrase.

    Description: Teleskopierbare, spielbehaftete Hubgerüste von Gabelstaplern werden während eines Arbeitszyklus oftmals zu Schwingungen angeregt. Die charakteristischen Schwingungseigenschaften, bedingt durch das usammenwirken von Spiel, auskragender Last und Schwerkraft, werden experimentell untersucht und durch ein 5-Massen-Modell sehr gut abgebildet.Sowohl mit aktiven als auch mit passiven Maßnahmen lassen sich die Schwingungen schnell und deutlich reduzieren.
