    Description: Le secret est le “personnage théorique” de ce volume collectif qui essaye de penser les figures particulières que la Modernité lui a inventées. Il ne s’agit donc pas de décrire des structures hors de toute histoire mais de chercher en quoi le secret est intimement lié à une économie nouvelle du langage, à des formes littéraires nouvelles. Car la Modernité a produit une exigence de tout dire qui change radicalement le partage entre dicible et indicible. Journal intime ou roman sont, notamment, deux matrices fécondes d’écriture du secret et leur floraison est, d’une certaine façon, l’histoire de la modernité. On déclinera donc quelques figures narratives du secret, en racontant le “roman du secret”. De Madame de Duras à Huysmans, Proust et Bernanos, de Blanchot à Quignard, ou chez Carrère et Both, le principe même du romanesque réside dans les modalités indéfinies de révélation du secret, ce secret qui se réserve, qui nous fait lire. Par contraste, la poésie choisit le versant du mystère. On en verra chez Maeterlinck, Artaud, Pessoa ou Michaux les modes de figuration, et ce qui fait du lyrisme une science de l’ineffable. Les figures du secret sont infinies, chatoyantes et séduisantes. Les énigmatiques jeunes filles de Balthus nous rappellent la place du visible et les réflexions de Wittgenstein ouvrent à une redéfinition de la subjectivité. Le secret échappe. Il relance heureusement notre désir de savoir, notre avidité de lire, notre besoin de lui donner un contenu. Il est ainsi l’un des noms, secrets et éclatants, de la littérature.

    Description: Homme de la frontière, Walter Scott est bien placé pour écrire sur cette limite à la fois concrète, topologique et abstraite, théorique. Né entre deux âges, à Édimbourg, capitale écossaise aux deux visages divisée entre la Vieille Ville et la Ville Nouvelle, il est issu d’une puissante famille frontalière et a passé sa jeunesse dans les Borders, zone de marche entre l’Angleterre et l’Écosse, avant de s’y installer définitivement. Structure charnière et conjonctive, la frontière est la véritable héroïne de sa série des "Waveley Novels" dont le nom est tiré du titre du premier roman publié il y a deux cents ans. L’œuvre de Scott est d’entrée de jeu placée sous le signe du déplacement et plus particulièrement de l’errance qui fait référence à un voyage interminable et sans but précis. Waverley, le prénom du personnage éponyme, vient en effet du verbe « waver » qui, certes, signifie hésiter en anglais, mais qui a aussi le sens d’errer, de vagabonder en écossais vernaculaire où il est employé comme un synonyme du verbe « wander ». Les intrigues romanesques reposent sur ces jeux de traversées transfrontalières, à la fois physiques et symboliques, qui sont l’occasion d’épreuves initiatiques transgressives en accord avec l’autre sens du mot errance, synonyme de défiance et d’erreur. Cette monographie s’interroge sur le rôle de la frontière chez Scott dans le contexte littéraire des récits de voyage sur l’Écosse avec Defoe, Pennant ou encore Johnson et Boswell, et dans le cadre historique de la tradition du voyage au XVIIIe siècle. L’objet de cette étude sur l’écriture de la frontière, et notamment du voyage erratique, est de dégager une voie du milieu que nous qualifierons de scottienne, c’est-à-dire propre à l’écrivain.

    Description: Diese literaturgeschichtliche Arbeit führt erstmals auf breiter Quellenbasis den empirischen Nachweis, dass Leser/-innen beim außerwissenschaftlichen Umgang mit Literatur in Geschichte und Gegenwart Applikationen vornehmen. Es wird gezeigt, welche Formen eine solche Applikation annehmen kann, und dass es sich um eine relevante Praktik handelt. Unter ‚Applikation‘ ist eine Tätigkeit im Rahmen des Rezeptionsprozesses zu verstehen, bei welcher Leser/-innen das Gelesene auf ihre persönlichen oder lebensweltlichen Erfahrungen, Überzeugungen und Einstellungen beziehen. Das Ergebnis dieser Bezugnahme, welches ebenfalls ‚Applikation‘ heißt, kann sein, dass sie neue Überzeugungen und Einstellungen bilden, bestehende verändern oder verwerfen. Um Existenz, Beschaffenheit und Relevanz des Phänomens zu belegen, wurde eine Fülle an Rezeptionsdokumenten ausgewertet. Sie geben Auskunft über die Erstrezeption von neun Romanen aus vier Jahrhunderten, die das literarische Korpus der Arbeit bilden, darunter Goethes Werther, Manns Buddenbrooks und Schlinks Der Vorleser. Die Arbeit beleuchtet eine wichtige, in der bisherigen rezeptionsgeschichtlichen Forschung nicht hinreichend beachtete Praktik des außerwissenschaftlichen Umgangs mit Literatur.

    Description: Difficile de définir la notion de littérature migrante. Sous l’angle de la traduction, la catégorie devient pourtant plus identifiable. Les littératures migrantes ont pour principale caractéristique de produire une vaste translation culturelle d’un champ à l’autre, soit que l’écrivain ait adopté la langue du pays d’accueil et opère lui-même le processus de transfert, soit qu’il écrive encore dans sa langue d’écriture première et que ce travail appartienne au traducteur. Comment dès lors, écrivain ou traducteur, traduisent-ils à destination d’un lectorat qui les ignore ou ne les reconnaîtra pas des références culturelles, des accents ou autres distorsions phonétiques, voire des éléments relevant de codes minorisés ?     Description: Né juste après la Révolution française pour désigner la science des idées, le mot « idéologie » s'est dévalué au cours du xxe siècle et il suscite aujourd'hui le débat à plusieurs titres, au premier chef lorsqu'il s'agit de le définir. Dans le domaine du livre de jeunesse, la conjonction entre idéologie, instruction publique et éducation s'inscrit au cœur des enjeux d'une littérature adressée et sous surveillance que l'auteur, l'éditeur, le médiateur ont toujours cherché à encadrer à des fins éducatives. C'est dans ce champ particulier que l'on se propose d'affronter la complexité d'une notion « labile et fourbe », d'après Bruno Blanckeman, pour en circonvenir les manifestations et les effets dans les entreprises romanesques de l'extrême contemporain. Faute de définition stable et univoque, sans doute convient-il ici d'embrasser la notion au pluriel et de concevoir les idéologies comme des « systèmes fixes de valeurs ordonnancées » qui trouvent un terrain de prédilection dans le roman, lui-même genre pluriel, « archi-genre » qui orchestre une polyphonie de discours et s'accommode de toutes les hybridités. En observant certains de ses sous-genres - roman-miroir, roman de fantasy, roman dystopique, roman post-colonial - les différents contributeurs sont conduits à se demander dans quelle mesure le roman contemporain pour la jeunesse met en œuvre une « poétique des valeurs » et s'il rend possible l'émergence de ces « fictions critiques » que Dominique Viart définit comme des textes où « le discours met en crise la pensée ». Les articles réunis ici interrogent dans les romans pour la jeunesse l'approche, souvent paradoxale, des grandes questions soulevées par les évolutions du monde contemporain. Au moment où l'actualité concernant l'école en France se cristallise à nouveau sur le sujet de l'enseignement de la morale, la réflexion s'attache notamment aux corpus romanesques prescrits par l'institution scolaire et à leur enseignement.

Ce volume, qui a privilégié une démarche pluridisciplinaire, à la fois synchronique et diachronique, est composé de dix-neuf articles dont l’objectif a été de saisir le lien existant entre la justice et le récit en France, en Italie et en Espagne du XIVe siècle au XIXe siècle. Objets d’un renouveau historiographique récent, les rituels sont cependant désormais perçus par les historiens tout à la fois comme un outil de restauration du lien social et comme une forme du langage politique. Les études réunies dans ce volume, fruit de la collaboration d’historiens médiévistes et modernistes pour la plupart spécialistes de l’Italie pré-moderne, invitent ainsi le lecteur à porter la réflexion sur le terrain plus politique de l’affirmation de la souveraineté ; en allant au-delà des idées reçues sur le caractère terrifiant des rituels judiciaires, en tissant des comparaisons avec le royaume de France, du bas Moyen Âge jusqu’à la Révolution, elles montrent comment, à partir de la fin de l’époque médiévale, rituel et discours politique s’épaulent l’un l’autre et contribuent à la fabrique du consensus sur lequel repose l’acte de gouvernement. Si, au cœur du genre, fondamentalement hybride dès ses origines, se trouve toujours l’image concrète et détaillée d’une société radicalement différente et s’affirmant meilleure que toutes les autres, le sens du projet utopique n’est pourtant jamais donné, mais ardemment débattu, critiqué, brouillé ou renversé. C’est ainsi que l’utopie prend tour à tour l’allure d’un dialogue, d’une satire, d’une allégorie, d’un récit de voyage, d’un roman d’aventure ou d’une science-fiction et change, au cours de son histoire, de forme et de sens comme un caméléon. Le parcours que proposent les contributions du volume va de Sénèque aux derniers avatars de l’utopie contre-utopique du corps technologiquement perfectionné, en passant par le royaume des Amazones, la ville idéale de la Renaissance, le meilleur des mondes possibles de Voltaire, les dystopies du xxe siècle et l’utopisme de la science-fiction. À l’idée reçue d’un passage linéaire de l’utopie traditionnelle à l’anti-utopie moderne s’opposent les méandres d’un discours qui situe l’utopie, depuis toujours, dans un tiers espace entre l’eutopie et la dystopie. Hommage à Claude-Gilbert Dubois et à son lointain essai sur les Problèmes de l’utopie, ce volume rappelle que le genre utopique « obéit à une esthétique de la distanciation beaucoup plus qu’à une esthétique de l’illusion ».

    Description: Since the beginning of the 19th century, quantitative techniques have been used in literary and human sciences to describe, analyze and interpret texts. Such approaches were underrepresented until the end of the 20th century, but are becoming increasingly important in the digital humanities. The aim of the volume is to contextualize theories of theory, methodology and subject history on the one hand, and on the other hand to examine the significance of their results with a view to the digital present. In view of the innovative verve of digital humanities, it should not be forgotten that the idea of ​​juxtaposing interpretive close reading with descriptive-analytical, remote reading is not much younger than the idea of ​​close reading itself. Counting is by no means the first through the 'digital revolution' of the humanities. Rather, what has been determined by late Dilthey as the subject of the understanding and qualitatively oriented humanities has been declared 'measurable' for some 200 years.
    Description: Seit Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts werden in den Literatur- und Geisteswissenschaften quantitative Verfahren angewandt, um Texte zu beschreiben, zu analysieren und zu interpretieren. Bis zum Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts waren solche Ansätze unterrepräsentiert, gewinnen im Zuge der Digital Humanities jedoch sehr stark an Bedeutung. Ziel des Bandes ist es, quantifizierende Verfahren einerseits theorie-, methoden- und fachgeschichtlich zu kontextualisieren, andererseits aber auch mit Blick auf die digitale Gegenwart zu prüfen, welchen Stellenwert ihre Ergebnisse haben. Angesichts der innovativen Verve der Digital Humanities darf nicht vergessen werden, dass die Idee, einem interpretativen close reading ein (vermeintlich?) deskriptiv-analytisches distant reading gegenüberzustellen, nicht sehr viel jünger ist als die Idee des close reading selbst. Denn Zählen ist keinesfalls erst durch die 'digitale Revolution' der Geisteswissenschaften denkbar geworden. Vielmehr wird schon seit ungefähr 200 Jahren das, was vom späten Dilthey als Gegenstand der verstehenden und qualitativ orientierten Geisteswissenschaften bestimmt wurde, auch zum 'messbaren' Objekt erklärt.

D’autres s’y sont adjoints, poursuivant la réflexion qui connaîtra, sinon un aboutissement, du moins une amplification certaine dans le colloque « L’entredire francophone » qui sera organisé les 12,13 et 14 décembre 2002 à Bordeaux. Le propos vise à scruter et privilégier le dialogue entre les différentes littératures francophones, l’hypothèse de départ étant que, dans cette ère postcoloniale, le maintien d’une pratique commune du français dans des espaces géographiques et culturels variés devrait permettre aux écrivains comme aux lecteurs de passer les frontières, dans tous sens et non plus seulement dans un tropisme ramenant à un centre français.

    Description: La littérature moderne montre souvent une propension de l’écriture à se confronter à sa propre impossibilité, voire à s’en nourrir, paradoxalement. Ce paradoxe est difficilement théorisable ou conceptualisable, il échappe essentiellement à la saisie conceptuelle et à la logique classique, mais il est cependant l’objet d’une expérience littéraire récurrente, historiquement repérable, objectivement observable dans les textes, et donc descriptible, ou appréhendable comme une sorte d’algorithme de certaines tendances de l’écriture littéraire (non tant dans son contenu que dans son mode de fonctionnement) : comment continuer à écrire jusque dans l’aporie, comment frayer dans l’impasse (aporia) les chemins de l’écriture ? Cette prédilection de l’écriture pour une situation auto-contradictoire a été relevée par Roland Barthes disant que « la modernité commence avec la recherche d’une Littérature impossible ». C’est sur ce paradoxe que portera ici notre réflexion, pour essayer d’en dégager les origines, pour tenter d’en explorer les modalités et les modulations. La littérature en effet tend non seulement à se réfléchir elle-même, mais aussi à réfléchir sa propre impossibilité, à faire œuvre de son impossibilité (à faire œuvre de son propre « désœuvrement », pour reprendre le terme de Blanchot), jusqu’à assumer voire revendiquer sa propre impossibilité comme étant son essence même.

    Description: The Complete Poetry of Du Fu presents a complete scholarly translation of Chinese literature alongside the original text in a critical edition. The English translation is more scholarly than vernacular Chinese translations, and it is compelled to address problems that even the best traditional commentaries overlook.The main body of the text is a facing page translation and critical edition of the earliest Song editions and other sources. For convenience the translations are arranged following the sequence in Qiu Zhao’an’s Du shi xiangzhu (although Qiu’s text is not followed). Basic footnotes are included when the translation needs clarification or supplement. Endnotes provide sources, textual notes, and a limited discussion of problem passages. A supplement references commonly used allusions, their sources, and where they can be found in the translation.Scholars know that there is scarcely a Du Fu poem whose interpretation is uncontested. The scholar may use this as a baseline to agree or disagree. Other readers can feel confident that this is a credible reading of the text within the tradition. A reader with a basic understanding of the language of Chinese poetry can use this to facilitate reading Du Fu, which can present problems for even the most learned reader.

    Description: Two people who do not speak the same language meet. One writes the name of the other: a fugitive, timeless and banal scene. Only a modest written record remains. Thanks to it, however, we can, centuries later, re-experience the exact moment of this exchange. Sometimes the fugitively captured name will be the only vestige of completely extinct languages. For epigraphies of fragmentary attestation, understanding that it is a proper name, isolating it and deciphering it is in itself a first task. It is then necessary to analyze the treatment of this name in the language of reception, the required adaptations and retrace the context in which the object was written. With these few pieces, the background image of the cultural and linguistic puzzle of ancient societies is reconstituted. This book aims to constitute and leaf through the album of a dozen of these linguistic snapshots all around the ancient Mediterranean.

Dans cette appropriation de l’humain, la littérature comparée s’est progressivement élargie au domaine entier de la culture. Les études musico-littéraires y connaissent un essor et une explosion bibliographique sans précédent  : centres de recherche et congrès se multiplient de façon impressionnante. Le chemin est cependant semé d’embûches diverses qu’il serait vain de vouloir ignorer. Pour difficile qu’il soit, le monde de la recherche mélopoétique réserve au chercheur de splendides découvertes. Il importe donc tout particulièrement de faire le point sur un domaine appelé à occuper à l’avenir, en dépit de ses difficultés, une place privilégiée. Ne faudra-t-il pas présenter la musicologie, désormais, comme le complément indispensable de la linguistique naguère  ? Dans un précédent ouvrage (Euterpe et Harpocrate ou le défi littéraire de la musique), l’auteur privilégiait l’approche méthodologique et théorique, celui-ci multiplie à dessein les exemples. Le dessein avoué est d’attirer les chercheurs à ce monde nouveau et fascinant des recherches mélopoétiques.

Ce processus continu fut largement troublé d’une part par l’hostilité plus ou moins ponctuelle des Français, des Européens de la colonie et des Musulmans, et d’autre part par les polémiques incessantes qui ont accompagné ce passage progressif d’un groupe d’indigènes colonisés en citoyens de la République française. L’ouvrage analyse l’évolution du statut des Juifs entre 1830 (où ils ne sont que des dhimmis) et le décret Crémieux de naturalisation collective de 1870, la « mission civilisatrice de la France » qui s’est accompagnée de l’attachement rapide et définitif des Juifs, l’importance à travers le temps de l’« antijudaïsme » et de l’antisémitisme dans la colonie. Leur inscription dans la sphère française aux XIXe-XXe siècles fait d’objet d’études de cas : les rabbins, les Juifs de Constantine, les interprètes, la vie quotidienne, la presse antijuive. Les textes proposés font revivre leurs identités plurielles : citoyens français, ils revendiquent leur judéité inscrite dans la sphère séfarade, imprégnée de culture berbéro-arabe. La période de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale est abordée à travers les camps d’internement et la présence de Juifs d’Algérie à Marseille. Le livre s’achève avec un regard sur la situation actuelle et des témoignages sur la mémoire de l’Algérie.

    Description: Sport during Cold War has recently begun to be studied in more depth. Some scholars have edited a book about the US and Soviet sport diplomacy and show ow the government of these two countries have used sport during this period, notably as a tool of soft power during the Olympic games. Our goal is to continue in this direction and to focus more on the sport field as a place of exchanges during the Cold War. Regarding this point, our aim is to show that there were events beyond boycottsmany and that unknown connections existed inside sport. Morevoer, many actors were involved in these exchanges. Thus, it is important not only to focus on the action of States, but also on private actors (international sporting bodies and journalists), considering that they acted around sport (an apolitic field) as it was tool to maintain links between the two blocs. Our project offers a good opportunity for young scholars to present original research based on new materials (notably the use of institutional or personals archives). Morevoer, it is also a step forward with a view to conduct research within a global history paradigm, one that is still underused in sport academic fields.

    Description: The well-known challenges of international migration have triggered new departures in academic approaches, with 'diaspora studies' evolving as an interdisciplinary and even transdisciplinary field of study. Its emerging methodology shares concerns with another interdisciplinary field, the study of the relations between law and literature, which focuses on the ways in which the two cultural practices of law and literature mutually negotiate each other and on the question after the ontological commensurability of the domains. This volume offers, for the first time, an attempt to provide an interface between these overlapping interdisciplinary endeavours of literary studies, legal studies, and diaspora studies.     Description: The study examines cultural effects of various colonial systems of government in the Spanish- and French-speaking Caribbean in a little investigated period of transition: from the French Revolution to the abolition of slavery in Cuba (1789–1886). The comparison of cultural transfer processes by means of literary production from and about the Caribbean, embedded in a broader context of the circulation of culture and knowledge deciphers the different transculturations of European discourses in the colonies as well as the repercussions of these transculturations on the motherland’s ideas of the colonial other: The loss of a culturally binding centre in the case of the Spanish colonies – in contrast to France’s strong presence and binding force – is accompanied by a multirelationality which increasingly shapes hispanophone Caribbean literature and promotes the pursuit for political independence. The book provides necessary revision to the idea that the 19th-century Caribbean can only be understood as an outpost of the European metropolises. Examining the kaleidoscope of the colonial Caribbean opens new insights into the early processes of cultural globalisation and questions our established concept of a genuine western modernity. The prominence of letters in recent fiction is due in part to the rediscovery, by contemporary writers, of letters as an effective tool for rendering aspects of historicity, liminality, marginalization and the expression of subjectivity vis-à-vis an ‘other’; it is also due, however, to the artistically challenging inclusion of the new electronic media of communication into fiction.     Description: The book focuses on the “Tractatus contra Graecos” (1252) by an anonymous Dominican from the convent of Constantinople, a theological dossier outstanding with regard to its various interaction with contemporary Latin-Greek discourses. Polemical theology is, to a certain extent, always making of: Notions of the other church are conveyed, which - if they did not meet their own expectations of the question of church unity - turned from the partner to the enemy. The analysis of these notions shows that under an often polemical text surface there is sometimes a much more original theology than one would expect this genre of text to be, and this theology is the central leitmotif of this book, drawing out and working into the sketch of medieval ecclesiology.

On lui reproche d’être resté replié sur lui-même, individualiste, trop exclusivement marchand, et de ne pas avoir su évoluer vers un capitalisme de type managérial jugé plus efficace pour pouvoir répondre aux enjeux industriels de son époque. Cette culture de l’entre-soi, fondée sur un système relationnel puissant et des représentations hérités du milieu du XIXe siècle, aurait contribué à pérenniser des modes de formation et de gestion peu performants, à limiter les capacités d’investissement ou d’innovation des entreprises et à retarder la concentration des sociétés, la rationalisation des méthodes de production et la standardisation des produits. Elle aurait en outre favorisé le repli des entreprises sur des marchés protégés - essentiellement coloniaux - et provoqué une certaine cécité à l’égard des évolutions économiques et sociales en cours. Cette légende noire, forgée au cours de la récession qui a suivi les Trente Glorieuses, nécessite aujourd’hui d’être revue. L’ouverture de nouveaux fonds d’archives privées, le renouvellement et la diversification des approches au sein de l’histoire économique et sociale régionale et l’émergence d’un nouveau régime d’historicité, permettent de proposer une tout autre représentation de la deuxième industrialisation marseillaise.

    Description: La diversité des mazarinades qui ont scandé la Fronde est à l’image de celle des motivations des acteurs de cette guerre civile. Dans cet immense corpus, les mazarinades bordelaises occupent une place aussi singulière que l’Ormée dans l’histoire de la Fronde. Si tout occasionnel diffusé entre 1648 et 1653 est classé parmi les mazarinades, toute mazarinade bordelaise a-t-elle été écrite, imprimée ou diffusée à Bordeaux, a-t-elle été conçue pour émouvoir les habitants de la capitale de la Guyenne ou pour peser sur les événements parisiens ? Les bibliothécaires, historiens et littéraires réunis par le CEREC (EA 4593 CLARE) apportent des réponses concrètes sur l’objet mazarinade et sur les fonds bordelais. Ils montrent ensuite comment des textes de propagande, aux marges de la fiction et de la factualité, créent ou transforment un événement, construisent une représentation de personnages historiques, et témoignent de la diversité des écritures de l’histoire. Enfin, l’édition de deux mazarinades offre au lecteur le plaisir de découvrir par lui-même la richesse de ces libelles souvent dénigrés.

    Description: Ce volume étudie les représentations romantiques de la forêt au xixe entre romantisme et positivisme mais aussi entre romantisme et décadentisme autour de plusieurs pistes et questions. Il s’attache à dégager à travers tout le xixe les continuités, les ruptures, les modulations, les détournements voire les retournements. La forêt est un espace sauvage certes ; mais en même temps elle est un paysage en perpétuelle évolution : elle n’échappe pas à l’économie. Les écrivains, Balzac et Sand, par exemple, enregistreront ces mutations. La forêt se sépare en deux espaces : celui des cultures (de la culture), celui de la nature. Le couple est sans cesse interrogé dans ce volume. L’attachement romantique à la forêt n’est pas seulement l’expression d’une nostalgie. Il est également porteur des embryons d’une pensée que nous qualifierions aujourd’hui « d’écologiste ». Ce livre, qui regroupe une vingtaine de contributions, part de l’évidence romantique apparente selon laquelle le moi est lié à la forêt. La force de cette relation privilégiée est ensuite examinée, qui s’explique aussi bien par les enchantements que par les chants offerts par et dans la forêt. Examiner ensuite comment la réalité sylvestre, celle de Fontainebleau, en particulier, qui a conquis de grands écrivains de l’époque, hante et nourrit tout à la fois l’imaginaire fantasmatique, permet d’aborder pour finir la forêt dans sa dimension iconographique. Le livre se clôt sur un magnifique portfolio photographique.

    Description: La période allant de la fin du XVe siècle au début du XIXe a été celle de la mise en relation d’espaces lointains, de l’accélération des transactions, de la transformation des pratiques et des réseaux du négoce, bref, de la première mondialisation des échanges. La dilatation de l’espace commercial et l’essor du négoce interculturel ont conduit les marchands à mobiliser, ajuster et élargir leurs compétences, notamment celles qui concernent les langues et les langages - considérés ici dans leur acception la plus large. Ce constat a souvent été dressé par les historiens du commerce qui n’ont cependant pas poussé plus avant leurs travaux dans une direction qui les éloignait de leurs études en cours. Ces recherches différées ont rarement été remises sur le métier ou seulement de manière périphérique à l’occasion de réflexions sur la formation des négociants ou des diplomates et sur la médiation interculturelle. Or, force est de reconnaître que dans le commerce international le maniement et la maîtrise de compétences langagières et linguistiques comptent parmi les éléments de la réussite. Cet ouvrage collectif, qui privilégie les espaces méditerranéen et européen, vise à comprendre comment ces compétences ont été acquises, pensées, utilisées et transmises non seulement par les marchands, mais aussi par ceux qui agissaient pour leur compte ou qui les accompagnaient.
