Description: The present work deals with the study of fish larvae of coral reef fishes in the Red Sea (Hurghada). It was aimed to study the spatial and temporal variations of fish larvae for management purposes. Sampling stations were chosen at Marina, Sheraton, Magawish and Arabia. The samples were taken monthly throughout the period of the study from August 2014 to July 2015 using plankton nets of different mesh sizes (150, 350, and 500 micron). The highest density of larvae was observed in July when 841 larvae 1000m-3 were collected whereas, the lowest density was recorded in March and October at 11 1000m-3. The highest number of species was recorded in Sheraton with 28 species followed by Magawish with 27 species recorded followed by Marina with 26 species recorded while the lowest was recorded in Arabia with 25 species. Concentration of larvae was significantly different between months and sites. There was a significant difference in the number of species between months but not between stations. Larvae of mullid fish were abundant in summer while larvae of clupeids were observed all year round.

Description: Beach seine is fishing gears that occupy all depths of water from surface to bed by non-gillnet net. Increasing non-standard catches caused this survive was done to standardization of the beach seine mesh size. The research was started from winter of 2017 to spring of 2017, performing 73 hauling with four mesh sizes of 26, 28, 30 and 33 mm (knot to knot) in the bag area of the beach seine in Miankaleh region of Golestan Province. According to the mesh size used in the bag section, the results showed that the highest amount of catches from different mesh size was done in size of 26 mm. Also, the maximum lengths were found for Liza aurata, Risso, 1810 in different mesh size in the 30-35 cm class length and for Alosa caspia, Linck, 1790 for 35-40 cm and for Rutilus kutum, Kamensky, 1901 at 30 to 35 cm. Also, in the mesh size of 26 mm, 50 percent of Lisa fish was caught at the length of 24.87 centimeters, in mesh size of 30 mm, 25.66 centimeters and mesh size of 32 mm, 26.65 centimeters. Also, the length of 50% of the permitted catch was obtained 25.5 centimeters by using 30 mm mesh size. According to the results, it was found that the Beach seines in the region did not caught selective and did catch much fish below the standard length.

Description: Commercial sponge catches in Cuba show decreases that require maintaining a precautionary approach and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory measures. This study aims to determine variations in abundance, size and quality of commercial sponges in the Gulf of Batabanó, during the 2015-2019 period, and to propose fishing management measures that favor this resource sustainability. Sponges den- sity was estimated in 2x100 m (200 m2) tran- sects. The fishing potential, expressed in metric tons, was calculated from the average density of individuals. The catch quota was calcula- ted based on 15 % of the fishing potential. The most represented species were Spongia obscura and S. barbara. The densities found (between 0.01 and 0.03 ind/m2) were low, but correspond to those reported at the end of the last decade, which corroborates the stabilization of catches (average annual quota of 18.7 metric tons) and demonstrates the effectiveness of the current fishing management. However, the density and size show a tendency to decrease between 2015 and 2019. This, together with the decrease in the abundance of Hippospongia lachne, the pre- sence of totally or partially dead sponges and the poor quality of some specimens, suggests the deterioration of the fishing stock. Based on the habitat affectations reported for this region, it is recommended to reduce the annual quota to 10 % of the fishing potential, not to extract specimens smaller than 15 cm in diameter and to implement sponge aquaculture again

Description: Human economic activities have caused many environmental impacts that can be attributed to climate change as the most important side effects. One of the components of climate change is the change in rainfall pattern, time and space distribution of rainfall, and also the reduction of rainfall. Considering the importance of water inputs in economic activities, especially agriculture and fisheries, in the present study, the effect of rainfall change on the value added of the fisheries sector in the short and long term has been studied. For this purpose, the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag model (ARDL) has been used. The results of this study indicate that rainfall in the short and long run has a positive and significant effect on the added value of the fisheries sector. Rainfall by improving access to surface water and groundwater resources has indirect effects on improving the value added of the fisheries sector. According to the results, it is suggested that fish catch limits be applied in critical areas affected by climate change. Also, in order to adjust and adapt the country's aquaculture sector to shocks caused by rainfall and climate change, the field of technology and production improvement should be provided through providing banking and financing facilities.

Description: Since the consumption is the main target of production and desired items of manufactures must be in the same direction with consumer demands through seller, evaluation of purchase and sale trends have specially importance. Therefore, this study was conducted in 1393 in order to evaluate the purchase and sale trend in the fish market of Guilan province’s in Bandar Anzali, Astara, and Kiashahr ports. Using a questionnaire data were collected from 30 fish store. Friedman test and chi-squared test were used to analyze the data from descriptive statistics. The results showed that most (26.6%) of fish sellers in Guilan ports were 31 to 40 years old. Most of them have had middle school or high school educations. About half of them have had 10 to 20 year experience, and 65% had 3 or 4-person families. 70% of fish market sellers in these ports possess facilities such as refrigerators to appropriately supply fish, but over 80% of them were lacking in counters. The research findings showed that sellers believed that the buyer and the consumer should give the most attention to freshness and quality when buying fish. In order to evaluate the priorities on not to be consumed fish by consumers from suppliers’ perspective, the unpleasant smell, the tiny bones and the difficulty of cleaning were first to fourth priorities. Sellers found that the healthiness and freshness were as the most important factors in consuming fish from the viewpoint of consumers. In addition, it was discovered that, regarding sellers, lack of access to final consumers, high rent, high municipal taxes, lack of buyers’ awareness lack of awareness, and low space in stores are not among problems with which fish sellers are faced in the markets of Guilan ports. Therefore, organizing these markets and equipping them with counters and standards and, modernizing the traditional market is an essential factor.
